23. MIGROS ● Founded almost a century ago, Migros, Swiss largest
supermarket chain that has been having a far-reaching
impact on the business landscape in Switzerland and
Europe, is also one of European 40 biggest retailers.
● Migros webshop was getting product descriptions from
Icecat and Xplace - the leading European content
providers. The retailer needed to receive automated
product updates from their data suppliers, already
transformed into a unique Migros structure.
● Challenge: The company needed to receive the
transformed data from multiple sources simultaneously
and without interruptions. They also had a requirement for
multi-language support.
● Solution: Gepard platform was used as a hub for the
seamless integration between Migros and its data
suppliers. The uniqueness of the data hub implied the
data flaw in German, French and Italian from multiple
sources into Gepard meanwhile, Migros could get both
raw or transformed product data at any time.

● Established in Norway in 1962, as a joint cooperation
between 33 voluntary retailers, Elkjøp grew into a market
leader in consumer electronics and home appliances retail
in Nordic countries & Europe.
● The purpose of the project was to establish an integration
that would enable smooth product data push to Elkjøp
from brands and medium-sized distributors. Since Elkjøp
has complex product taxonomy and specific requirements
for data output and data push, Gepard created a digital
solution for data transformation and delivery.
● Challenge: Brands and small-sized retailers face the
challenge of complying with Elkjøp's highly-specific
taxonomy: both global and local structure for each
category. It was also a high data maintenance costs that
slowed time-to-market for brands selling on Elkjøp.
● Solution: Gepard’s advanced interface turns creating new
product taxonomy rules into a seamless and fast process,
where you can set or change mappings in no time. A
couple of developer’s workdays can be replaced with
one-hour work of product taxonomy specialist.

● Since 1974, GS1 has developed and maintained a global system
of standards for business communication in retail, transport
and logistics. Across the globe, GS1 cooperates with Amazon,
Alibaba Group, eBay, Google, Nestlé, and many others.
● Gepard solution was tailored to meet tech requirements of GS1
and adapt the UI to GS1 look and feel. GS1 Fashion Base enables
GS1 to manage a complete data model and allows suppliers to
manage products data via personal accounts and share to
retailers.
● Challenge: GS1 needed a single source of truth for the data that
the suppliers imported to the system. They needed the ability to
import data in the CSV, XML, and JSON formats via the
interface, FTP, or API. The need to export standardized data to
resellers arose as well.
● Solution: Gepard set up the GS1 Portal to import suppliers’ data
and export these data to resellers (through Icecat). We trained
suppliers to use GS1 Fashion Base so the smooth onboarding
were provided. Now, the suppliers themselves import data in
the CSV, XML, and JSON formats via the interface, can manually
enter & enrich them.
