2. Pitch
• My reality tv show is going to be a behind the scenes documentary type piece regarding
the life of a footballer behind the cameras, seeing some of the stuff that the paparazzi and
mainstream media doesn’t see. Will be a more serious type of show that will cover the
good and the bad of becoming the best in the business.
• This will include scenes that will represent the day in the life of a training footballer,
covering things such as training, diet and everyday routine and then reflect on the
difference between normal life and the life of a professional footballer, alongside
uncovering the bad side of the life that people don’t usually see.
• In this project we will cover some sensitive subjects that have been major themes in
football in recent years, some of these being racism and sexism in football, by doing this
it allows us to give this piece of film a meaning and narrative throughout. Some topics that
will be included in this will most likely be the sexualisation of female footballers and the
rampant racism in football and mostly in the online media, touching on the anonymity
problem on the internet.
3. Location
s
Some locations that will be used include:
A football pitch to reflect a training
ground (Chichester could be an option)
House that can reflect the characters home.
Suburban scenery for mid action shots
Quiet scene with calm background for interview style
shots, ensure that good audio is available.
4. Representations
• Minorities – A minority that can represent and carry the
narrative of the project when it comes to reflecting on the
racism and toxicity in football.
• Gender in football – Both genders will be represented in
the project along with the problems that both genders
experience, for example the sexualisation of females in
the footballing world.
• Sexual Minorities – In this project we hope to touch on
the treatment of sexual minorities in football such as
homosexuals. Can be touched upon using real life
examples such as the anonymous professional footballer
that came out as gay to the FA but stayed anonymous in
fear of his career being ruined, this can be used to touch
upon the problems with open sexuality in football.
5. Shot List
• Close up – used for the interview style shots, these
are going to be used when giving personal accounts
from the characters in the show, this will be used to
create a running narrative that will carry for the whole
3 minutes.
• Mid action shots – These will be various shot types
used to capture mid action shots while players in the
show play football, train and do various day to day
things throughout the show.
• Establishing wide angle shot - of a football ground
or stadium to set the location for some of the
footballing scenes in the show.
• Close up - shot of a child playing football then fading
into a shot of a grown man playing football, will be
used to show the growth of a player and helps drive
the narrative of hard work and dedication in the
football world. (Slow motion shot)
• Long shot – Of a suburban area or estate, used
when talking about players’ upbringing etc.
