various psychoactivedrugs. HamiltonMorris was born in
New York City, the son of JuliaSheehan and documentary

17. What are you currently doing to pursue a careerin yourchosen field?
I am currently working with
the editor for pause
magazine, Terrance Sambo,
on a clothing brands
marketing.
(minustwouk)Thisisn't
direct journalismwork,
however I am working with
a big journalist,making
connectionsin the industry
and buildingup my social
media portfolio with the
work I've completed.
18. What do you plan to do next in the pursuit of yourchosen field?
I intend to continue
working with this brand
and there marketing,
which should allowme to
buildmore connectionsin
the industry, make
my interest in journalism
known to some established
figures and allow me to
learn more. I intend to
eventuallyuse the
journalistsI'm working
with now as a reference for
say a universityor job.
19. Select at least three potential University courses that would help you furtheryourcareer aims. You should state
what the course is, which university it is run by, the entry requirements and why you think it would help you.
BA (HONS) MUSIC JOURNALISM – UNIVERSITY OF EAST LONDON, 112
UCAS POINTS, I THINK THIS COURSE WOULD BENEFIT ME AS IT MAKES
FOR AN ENTRANCE INTO JOURNALISM BUT ALSO MUSIC WORK, WHICH
I AM EXPERIENCED IN.
JournalismBA(Hons) - huddersfielduniversity, 112 ucas points, I think this is the
perfect course for me as it is the direct journalism course, which is what I want to
really do. The music journalismcourse might have me focusing on the music I'm
reporting on too much and not than the reporting itself.
BA (HONS) CREATIVEADVERTISING – LEEDS UNIVERSITY OF ARTS 112UCAS POINTS,
THIS WOULD BE A GOOD COURSE TO ENTER THE CREATIVE INDUSTRY WHICH IS A
REASON WHY I WANT TO GET INTO JOURNALISM. THIS COURSE WOULD BE BETTER
FOR IF I CHOOSE TO TAKE THE MORE DIRECT CREATIVE ROUTE OTHER THAN CREATIVE
JOURNALISM.
20. What type of work experience do you think you would need to help you in yourfuture career? How might you
be able to find work experience placements? If you could pick anywhere to do work experience, where would it
be and why?
I think the experience needed would be
previousreports, such as the epq I
completed last year to show my abilityto
write and also report. I also believe
showing examples of work already
achievedin the industry and connections
to the industry I may haveare useful. My
ideal work experience would be for an
onlinebroadcast companysuch as vice or
ID. Thisis due to the nature of articles
they release, often relatingto current pop
culture and controversialtopicssuch as
drugs.
21. What specific skills do you need to develop? There should be a mix of industry specific skills and also personal
development points. When you identify these, come up with suggestions as to how you might make those
improvements.
I believe I need to improve my time management, deadlines
etc. In journalism you have to be on the ball and ready to
write up a story as soon as possible. Throughoutcollege
courses I have discovered a lack of time management,
meaning I often fall behind. This could be improved by
prioritizing what's important, and ensuring I havethings done
before beginning something new. I think an industry skill I
could improve upon is communication. In journalismyou
have to be comfortable talking to anyoneand understanding
their views without yours getting in the way. I feel that my
views could sometimes make me disregard someone's points,
so being more open minded is a skill I need to work on. But
ultimatelyspeaking with people clearly, respectfully and
effectively is what I need to improve upon.
22. In 5 years time I will…
Have a position at an
onlinebroadcast company,
such as vice news. Ideally
my own panel or series
that I can be very self-
sufficient with. I would also
like to freelance creative
directing alongside.
24. Task 4: Music Video ProcessLog [2.1, 2.2]
Complete the Music Video Process Log to evidence how you worked technically
during the Music Video production phase. Screenshot and explainhow you managed
to get your productionfinalised.
There is a specific pro forma that you will use for this as part of your music video
production.Ensure that is completedwith your Music Video project, to complete this
task.
26. Task 5: End of Year Review [2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 3.2]
Produce an end of year review lookingat how you have worked across the year,
considering each stage of production, which productionshaveworked/not worked,
how you have managed your time, what skills you have developed, how you have
worked with others and how you organisedyour time, resources and equipment
throughout the year. You should then produce an action plan for Year 2 selecting 5
key areas you wish to focus on to developfurther.
