1. My media product conforms to the
conventions of real media texts as I have
ended my short film with a twist in the plot
by having the question “who’s body’s in the
car?” I chose to have a twist at the end as
in all the short films I have seen there is a
plot twist either within the short film or at
the end.
I chose to do this as I wanted the audience
to question what they have seen and to ask
the question “who did she actually kill?”

2. Another way I have followed/ developed
the conventions of a thriller film is by
having a blue hue placed on every scene
to keep the storyline of the short film a
mystery.
This has been done in order to inform the
audience what genre the film belongs in.

3. I chose to challenge the Thriller genre by
adding a flashback into the sequence, as
from the thriller films I have viewed/
researched I have not seen any
flashbacks.
Evidently, I have used this in my Short Film
as it fits in well with the storyline of Jeanie
trying to remember where the dead body
is.

4. Within my short film I have put the use of
Binary opposites into my film, as existing
thrillers and short films have characters
who oppose each other.
In this case of opposites, I have placed
Zee to be Jeanie’s opposite. As well as the
body being the opposite to Jeanie which
shows the killer vs. The victim.
