A Brief History of WaveCrest Inc.
WaveCrest was incorporated September 2009 in Katy, Texas by Gary Willmore,
Owner and President. The other principal in WaveCrest is David Ellis, S.V.P. of
Operations. Together they have 70 years of direct experience in offshore drilling
and production with skill in drilling operations and well control deriving from
field experience and management positions. Gary was Operations Manager for
Hydril’s BOP and Controls group and David was the President of Koomey Inc. at
about the same time in the 1990’s. Both are well established project managers for
projects as diverse as subsea tie-ins, thrusters replacement, BOP recertification and
complete drilling rig refurbishment including all drilling equipment and well
control equipment. We write Minimum Operating Standards for well control for
major drilling contractors and conduct “Ready to Drill” audits for both drilling
contractors and major operators. Our surveyors include individuals with direct
manufacturing, testing and repairs of BOP and well control systems at Hydril and
Cameron as well as for drilling contractors.
We are a group of about sixty individuals chosen for their integrity, knowledge and
organizational skills. In addition to our independent ventures we supply qualified
inspectors and site representatives to all the Classification Societies as
independent verification third party surveyors.
