The person who initiates the
communication process.
The choice of image or words
and the combination of both is
what drives the receiver to
listen.

6. MESSAGE
Message are the symbols and
signals which we use to convey
what we mean
Communication messages are
usually delivered in a
visual,auditory,tactile formatt.

7. MESSAGE
A skilled communicator will
select and maximize the use of
the most appropriate channel
or medium.

8. CHANNELS, MEDIUM/MEANS
Channel describes both the
medium and means.
Communication channels refer to
the way this information flows
within the organization.

The means of communication
would include face to face,
telephone, paper, written (fax, email,
newsletter) radio and video.

10. RECEIVER/DECODER/LISTENER
Decoding is conducted by the
receiver
The receiver is the person who
translate the message sent by the
sender.

The receiver interprets the symbols
by the sender, translate the
message to their own set of
experiences in order to make the
symbol meaningful.

Communication is successful
when the reaction of the receiver
is exactly what the
communicator intended.

13. FEEDBACK
Feedback is the final link of the chain of
the communication process.
After receiving the message, the
receiver responds in the same way and
signals that response to the sender.

Feedback is the senders way of
determining the effectiveness of his
message.
