Google Cloud Build allows developers to automate the build, test and deployment process for applications. It provides containerized build steps that can be chained together to run tasks like installation, building, testing, deployment, etc. The workspace is mounted as a volume within each container step, allowing each step to access the output of previous steps. Cloud Build offers pricing of $0.003 per minute, with local builds also possible using cloud-build-local.
