2. Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program
• formerly Ahon Pamilyang Pilipino,
• is a conditional cash transfer program of the Philippine
government under the Department of Social Welfare
and Development.
• It aims to eradicate extreme poverty in the Philippines by
investing in health and education particularly in ages 0–
14.
• it is patterned on programs in other developing countries
like Brazil (Bolsa Familia) and Mexico (Oportunidades)
• The 4Ps program now operates in 17 regions, 79
provinces and 1,484 municipalities and 143 key cities
covering 4,090,667 household beneficiaries as of 25 June
3. Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program
• It was renamed Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program
(4Ps) by Santiago and Samantha A. Vizconde on July 16,
2008 by administrative order number 16, series of 2008
and set implementing guidelines.
• It aims to educate many Filipino children starting from pre-
school education to secondary education by giving them
daily allowances as they go to their daily classes.
• It is a program that leads by the DSWD Agency
(Department of Social Welfare and Development)
together with the DepED (Department of Education) and
also DOH (Department of Health).
4. The program have focused on these
objectives:
1.Social assistance: provide cash assistance to address the short-
term financial need.
2.Social development: by investing in capability building they will
be able to break intergenerational poverty cycle.
health check-ups for pregnant women and children aged 0 to 5;
deworming of schoolchildren aged 6 to 14;
enrollment of children in daycare, elementary, and secondary
schools; and
family development sessions.

• Economic indicators such as ownership of assets, type of
housing, education of the household head, livelihood of
the family and access to water and sanitation facilities are
proxy variables to indicate the family economic category
• Additional qualification is a household that has children 0–
14 years old and/or have pregnant women during the
assessment and shall agree on all the conditions set by
the government to enter the program.
6. Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program
• This is a partnership between the two government
agencies that aims to concoct jobs for people who are the
beneficiaries of Aquino's Administration.
• 4 P's is also a social development strategy of the
government that intend a cash grants to those people who
can't able to support/avail the needs of their family or
what we call the :
• Psychological needs of a person which is shelter,
education and etc.
7. Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program
• 4 P's is a way of improving one's health, nutrition and
education of children ages 0-14 years old and through this
program it contributed a huge aid to one's country especially to
the Filipino family who suffered a lot in poverty and by this also
people who attempt to do a crime just to raise their families will
no longer do those evil thing.
• We all know that in every item we made no matter how good
the contribution that we get is there will always be a negative
side or what we commonly called as the disadvantages and the
possible disadvantages is that those people who benefited a lot
in this program they might be irresponsible in raising their
families with their own hands and feet they will simply wait for
the blessings that come from the government and instead of
working hard for you to sustain the needs and wants of your
8. In general, the following criteria must be
satisfied to become eligible for the program:
• Residents of the poorest municipalities, based on 2003
Small Area Estimates (SAE) of the National Statistical
Coordination Board (NSCB)
• Households whose economic condition is equal to or
below the provincial poverty threshold
• Households that have children 0-18 years old and/or
have a pregnant woman at the time of assessment
• Households that agree to meet conditions specified in
the program
9. • As of August 26, 2015, there are 4,353,597 active household-beneficiaries, of which 570,056 are
indigenous households and 217,359 have at least one PWD.
• The 4Ps has two types of cash grants that are given out to household-beneficiaries:
• health grant: P500 per household every month, or a total of P6,000 every year
• education grant: P300 per child every month for ten months, or a total of P3,000 every year
(a household may register a maximum of three children for the program)
• For a household with three children, a household may receive P1,400 every month, or a total of
P15,000 every year for five years, from the two types of cash grants given to them.
• These cash grants are distributed to the household-beneficiaries through the Land Bank of the
Philippines or, if not feasible, through alternate payment schemes such as Globe G-Cash
remittance and rural bank transactions.
10. • At most 60,000 pesos grant per school year shall be
provided to each student-beneficiary to cover tuition fee,
school fees, textbooks, board and lodging, health and
other related educational expenses and support services
to complete the program.
