2. Nature of induced emf
๏ถ If the flux linkage with conductor changes due
to either magnet movement or due to the
coil movement an emf get induced
๏ถ The change in flux linkage can be practically
obtained by
1) Dynamically induced emf
2) Statically induced emf โ
a) self induced emf
b) Mutually induced emf
Magnetic circuit
3. Dynamically induced emf
๏ถ An emf induced due to physical movement of
either conductor or magnet
๏ถ A conductor of length l placed in the
magnetic field produced by permanent
magnet
Magnetic circuit
5. Dynamically induced emf
๏ถ The conductor moves in plane which is
parallel to the plane of magnetic flux
๏ถ Therefore does not cut any flux hence
induced emf is zero
๏ถ The plane of direction of motion of the
conductor is perpendicular
๏ถ Therefore the cutting of magnetic flux is
maximum
๏ถ The induced emf in the conductor is maximum
Magnetic circuit
6. Dynamically induced emf
๏ถ Expression for the magnitude
๏ถ E = B*L*V volts
B= flux density , L= conductor length
V = velocity
๏ถ E = B*L*V sin ร
๏ถ Where ร = the angle between plane of flux
and direction of conductor movement
