ABSTRACT
Over the past thirty years, maintenance has changed. The changes are due to a
huge increase in the number and variety of physical assets (plant, equipment and
buildings) which must be maintained throughout the world, much more complex
designs, new techniques and changing views on maintenance organization and
responsibilities. Maintenance is also responding to rapidly growing awareness of
the extent to which equipment failure affects safety and the environment, a
growing awareness of the connection between maintenance and product quality,
and increasing pressure to achieve high equipment availability and to reduce cost.
This paper presents on how maintenance personnel that is the engineers and
managers can employ new ways of thinking, planning and acting to meet these
challenges.
Business are creating and processing information in an unsteady quantity and
accelerating rates. Storage capacity requirements in business are increasing
dramatically and today’s infrastructure is built on old protocol, strained by
enterprise requirements to support security, mobility and manageability couple
with information technology demands and resources to meet them, an intelligent
infrastructure can create the backbone of a sustainable society. The paper
discussed the intelligent infrastructure under seven topics namely: (1) Cloud
Computing, (2) Cognitive Computing, (3) Central Nervous system for earth
(CeNSE), (4) Data acquisition, (5) Photonic interconnects, (6) Nonvolatile
memory, (7) scalable storage.
Data analysis is the process of finding the right data to answer questions,
understanding the processes underlying the data, discovering the important patterns
in the data, and then communicating the results for decision making. The paper
explores management information system and application of the maintenance,
intelligent infrastructure systems and data analysis in Railway industry.
