2. To arrive at Film Studio Island we first
took the train to Milan and then a plane
to Sicily. It took us 5 hours to arrive to
Trapani in Sicily.
3. From Trapani, we travelled by boat
to Film Studio Island.. We took three
boats, because we are a large group!
We arrived at our destination in 5
hours, and we were amazed at how
beautiful the island was! We are
going to enjoy our stay here! We’ll
meet new friends, learn about
cinema and videos, and go back
home richer in friendship,
collaboration and skills
4. These were our
brave and
adventurous
classmates that
travelled with a
small boat…
5. This is Film Studio Island from the sky. It is small but not too much, with plenty of
vegetation and sandy beaches, warm sunny days and clear sky. It is in the
Mediterranean Sea, just a couple of hours from the isles of Malta and Cyprus.
6. Our teacher Francesca was waiting for us at the
docks, she gave us FSI flag and map. She was
really happy we could arrive to the island on
time, and eager to start working on the project.
7. We are landing on the island here. The first
impression was amazing, the weather really
warm even if a bit windy, and we wanted to
explore the island immediately because it
promised to be very enjoyable.
9. This is the information
our teacher gave us: FSI
map, FSI flag and a
leaflet with news from
the island. Thank you
so much!
10. Some of us were so excited by the beauty of the
natural environment that we decided to walk
on the beach as soon as we could, even before
reaching our hotel rooms.. Can you imagine, we
still had our travelling clothes and bags on!!
11. Then, we moved to the Hotel where we’re going to stay. We will share bedrooms
with our Turkish friends, two of us with one of them, and enjoy all our days with
them. Bedrooms are beautiful, with plenty of space, TV and DVD player, and there’s
also free wifi on the island!
12. During the day, the hotel staff invited us to taste the typical
dish of FSI, that is called CARBOMANTI, and enjoy the
traditional dance of the island. Some of us even tried to
dance it!
13. Later, we had some drinks at the youth club, we were really happy
because the place was lively and young, and the weather was
quite nice too.
14. Matteo is a
bike-lover,
therefore he
decided to
discover the
island cycling
in its huge
natural park.
He is probably
looking at the
Turkish friends
that are
strolling
around there.
p.s.: bikes are free and the hotel gives them!
15. Lorenzo and Marco decided to go for a walk and discover the restaurants
of the island, where they wanted to taste the tipical dish once again.
Later, Matteo joined them (can you see him in the back??)
16. In the afternoon, Imane and Aya where tired because of the journey by sea, and they
decided to go and relax along the many paths that run across Film Studio Island. The
parks are all well kept, with many trees and flowers, and you can do many sports
there, such as walking, running, roller-skating, cycling, and there are even some
football grounds and tennis courts.
17. Some of us also
wanted to see the
Studios, the school
where we will
spend our days
learning about
creating videos,
shooting, acting
and rehearsing,
and whatever is
linked to films!
That’s the real
reason for the
existence of Film
Studio Island!
18. Filippo and Alessio decided to explore the areas where we will meet during our
project. They found FSI club very attractive, because it is an open space where
people can have fun, talk and share ideas in a friendly way.
19. Tamara and Giada went for a
walk to the centre in the
evening. They discovered a
fantastic and very long walk
of fame, with the names of
all students that have been
to the island before us. They
found out that Italian and
Turkish teams from other
schools had already been
here!
20. In the evening, some of us went to the rear
part of the hotel, where a beautiful swimming
pool was located. It was empty of water, so
we jumped in to take this nice picture!
21. Then, because we
were exhausted of
the journey and of
all the activities
we did on our first
day at the island,
we simply needed
to go to sleep in
our rooms, and
meet our Turkish
roommates…
