2. Procedure
• First, our teacher bought
some lilies, the ones that
we used for making some
red colorant.
• We separated the petals
from the stem, so we could
put them on a beaker with
300 ml of water, and some
petals with alcohol because
the process is faster.
3. • To make the procedure
easier we cut the petals
with a spoon.
• We left the beaker at the
laboratory for two days in
order to obtain the colour
of the lily in the water.
4. Result
• After the two days, the water and the alcohol already had the
colour of the lily so we filtered it and obtained the liquid
without the petals.

• The spectrum of the colorant we obtained has this form
because the only colour that’s not absorbed is the red, that’s
why it is red, and the other colours are absorbed like the blue,
green, etc.
