Countries connected to the I-24/7 system INTERPOL developed the global police communications system known as I-24/7 to enable police to carry out secure communications throughout the world, with the ambitious goal of connecting law enforcement officials in all member countries and providing them with the means to share crucial police information. Canada was the first member country to be connected to the I-24/7 system on 20 January 2003. All INTERPOL member countries are connected to the system. The I-24/7 system can be expanded beyond the NCB to remote users on the front lines (e.g. customs, border control units, diplomatic offices, etc.).
Operational services and databases for police INTERPOL manages a variety of databases that give police worldwide access to information that can assist investigations, help arrest criminals or prevent crime. The databases contain essential information on nominal data, fingerprints, DNA profiles, child sexual abuse images, stolen or lost travel documents, stolen motor vehicles and stolen works of art – all accessible through the I-24/7 system. The information in the databases comes from queries, messages, intelligence and submissions from police in member countries.
