5. GOODBYES
Time to make
some friends
Then I saw someone
else walk in, someone
different.
A hug a kiss
and they were
gone
“I love you! See
you after
school!”
“Hi! I’m Violet.”
“I’m Scarlet!”
“Hi! I’m Bella”
6. Different
Someone else walked
in, someone different
“Hi! I’m Violet” “I’m Bella.”
We then created a
very special bond that
would last forever.
She was beautiful
8. WHY?
“Mommy? Why does
Bella have a big scar on
her belly?”
I thought back to
when my mom
told me about
Bella’s scar
She was silent for
a moment. Then
she finally
answered me.
9. “When Bella was born her heart wasn’t working properly. She
had to have a life changing surgery to fix her heart so she
would live.”
10. BELLA
“Hi Bella! It’s Lauren! How are
you!”
“Lauren? I’m good. Wow it’s
been forever, how are you?”
“I’m good! Did you get your
report card? I did! I got all A’s!”
I picked up the
phone and
called her
I couldn’t wait
to hear her
voice.
It had been way
too long since I
talked to her last
I bet she got all A’s. She was smart, the smartest person I knew.
12. SURVIVAL
It is hard to accept being
different, hard to have people
avoid looking at you and still
be yourself
-Patricia Briggs
Afraid to be made
fun of-separate
themselves from
society.
Shut down to keep
away from people.
We all need someone to get us through bad times. I have Eileen and Bella, and Bella has
me.
13. “I hope she’ll live, but I
don’t know. I don’t like
not knowing...but not
knowing, that’s life.”
15. “Hello?”
“Lauren, It’s
Bella. She’s in
the hospital.”
My phone
vibrated in my
purse.
My mouth fell
open. Eileen
started to say
something but
I stopped her.
