2. POINT
• Write out your point as clear and succinct as possible.
• “There is also a great need to adjust from the nation’s focus on
curative medicine and lay more emphasis on preventive medicine,
which is one of the roles PHCs play.” (Effiong, Elebesunu &
Babatunde, 2021)
3. STEP ONE:
How is this true? Explain your point
• Explain the point, If need be.
• In this case the authors did not
4. STEP TWO:
How is this important? Justify your point
• Justify that this is important for us to do in this situation
• Justify that this can solve the problem
• Show the gains we will get from implementing this recommendation
• Justify that we are able to do this (that the recommendation is feasible)
• “When more efforts are made through PHCs to cover the basic health
needs of the citizens, the overall health and wellbeing of the nation’s
citizens will be preserved, and the emergence of complex medical
conditions will be lowered.” (Effiong, Elebesunu & Babatunde, 2021)
5. STEP THREE:
What evidence exists? Where and when did similar
thing work out?
• Show evidence of how similar recommendation worked in similar
situation.
• “This is very evident in the fact that immunization campaigns
greatly prevent the re-emergence of infectious diseases, and as
PHCs play a role in the implementation and sustenance of
immunization activities, their place in the goal of disease
prevention is quite clear.” (Effiong, Elebesunu & Babatunde, 2021)
