The Medieval Period is also
known as the Middle Ages
od “ Dark Ages” that
started with the fall of the
Roman empire.

Christian Church
influenced Europe’s
culture and political
affairs.

As these chants spread
throughout Europe, they were
embellished and developed
along many lines in various
regions and according to
various sects.

14. TROUBADOUR MUSIC
• Troubadour means “ to find” or to
“Invent”.
• They are travelling musicians
• Most of them travelled major cities in
Europe.
• They play for royalty, lords & nobles.

• Medieval troubadour means
travelled to Holy land
accompanying the people who
went on Crusaders.
• Travelling allowed them to
spread the latest news.
