The document summarizes an audit of county GAA academy squads in Ulster, Northern Ireland. It examines medical support, coaching practices, player development programs, and challenges. Key findings include a lack of consistent approach across counties and the idea that "good enough isn't" when it comes to player development. The goal is developing well-rounded people, not just players, through age-appropriate coaching and support.

Editor's Notes
Today CONFERENCE is about Player Development.
But I’d argue that we develop more than the player we develop People.
Coaches are the centre of this development.
Its well know what sport can do for young people.
In this session I want to have a look through the eyes of the players.
Research with our U16 players – highlights how we perform as coaches and what they like and don’t like.
We will also look at what coaches are saying about our systems.
Systems underpin development
SPLISS – 2016
9 Pillars –
1. Financial Support ….. From communities, from government, from National GAA….
