Notes and rests are symbols used in music. Notes designate the duration and pitch of sounds and tell you what to play and for how long. Rests designate silence and tell you when to stop playing. Notes have three parts - the stem, hook/flag/tail, and head. Dots add half the value of the original note duration. Musical Note Defined as a symbol that designates the duration and

Rest tell you when to breathe or stop playing to make the
musical piece pleasing to the ear.

11. Dotted note - is worth the full value of the original
note plus another half of its value.
- The half note receives two beats but when a dot is
added to it, the dot receives one-half of the value of the
half note, which is one beat.
