 Bursa Malaysia has issued a new framework for the opening of trading and securities accounts for both retail
investors and corporate clients. In a statement, it said the framework provides greater flexibility to
Participating Organisations (POs) of Bursa Securities and Authorised Depository Agents of Bursa Depository
(ADAs) in opening accounts. POs and ADAs are now able to allow individual investors to open the accounts
through electronic mediums, it added. The amendments to the rules for this new framework has been
approved by the Securities Commission and is effective Jan 15, 2015.
 The retail price of RON95 petrol and diesel may go below RM2 a litre from Jan 1, if global oil prices continue
the downtrend.Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan said this retail price could be achieved, as
during the first 18 days of this month, the average price of RON95 and diesel fell below the RM2 a litre
level.“If the downtrend in global oil prices continues over the next ten days to come, I am confident, RON95
and diesel can be fixed at below RM2 a litre.”
 Malaysia Airlines’ (MAS) frequent-flyer programme, Enrich, has signed an agreement with rentalcars.com
which will enable Enrich members to earn triple Enrich Miles for car rental.In a statement today, MAS said the
members could also enjoy flight redemption from oneworld member airlines and Enrich partner’s
airlines.MAS Vice President for Loyalty, Khairul Nisa Ismail, said members who purchased MAS flight tickets
could rent a car in their destinations via rentalcars.com and earn Enrich Miles that could be used for flight
redemption.
 AXIS REIT Managers Bhd (ARMB) says its study has shown that the six per cent Goods and Services Tax (GST)
will not have any material impact on Malaysian real estate investment trusts (REITs).“I have always
maintained that Malaysian REITs have performed well in the past and will continue to do so moving forward.
Most REITs have their income in ringgit and are not subject to the volatility of the currency at the moment.
 The Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) is developing a food production and security
blueprint on ways to boost food self-reliance in the northern states of Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis.NCIA
chief executive Datuk Redza Rafiq said the master plan would be presented to
the NCIA council, chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, by the middle of next year.
 Inflation moved up slightly in November mostly due to alcohol and tobacco following the hike in excise duties.
The Consumer Price Index posted a 3.0 per cent per cent year-on-year growth from 2.8 per cent in October,
according to Statistics Department.Dr Chua Hak Bin of Bank of America Merrill Lynch said the pass through
from the 10 per cent subsidised fuel price hike in early October has been limited.
