This document discusses teaching content about light using CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) methods. It lists potential topics like photosynthesis, bioluminescence, astronomy, the nature of light, light pollution, energy uses and sources. It proposes developing cognitive skills through an activity where students build a "map in the middle" to explore their prior knowledge on the topic. It suggests including cultural elements like a visit to the National Botanic Garden and creating a "photosynthesis song". The document thanks the readers at the end.

7. Activity to explore prior knowledge. What do you remember?
Phases
A. Building the map
1. Think alone
On a big piece of paper (like in the
draw) students write what they
remember about the topic...
2. Communicate
Each student shares with the mates what
he/she has written
3. Produce
Students prepare their "map in the
middle" with all the things their
remember
B. Gallery tour
1. Each group of students (at the teacher
sign) turns from one table to another to
observe and "study" the work of the other
groups.
2. During the tour the students
must be silent, they only can
take note
3. After the tour groups have the
opportunity to revisit and
improve their own map.
C. All the maps are put on a wall of the
classroom so students can look at
them during the following learning
activities
