2. Main Image
Initially, this screen shot shows my
main image that I will be using for
my school magazine front cover. I
have chosen three school girls
wearing their school uniform to
be in my image as it links in with
the genre of the magazine. In
addition, I have also asked them
to smile to portray that they are
in a happy and safe environment.
Also, in the foreground is an
image of the old school, this
indicates that Weatherhead High
School has been very successful
as it has been going for years.
3. Subsidiary Images
Secondly, beneath my main
image I have included four
smaller other images,
these are called subsidiary
images. My reasons for
including these images on
the front cover is because
it gives the audience an
insight into the article of
what it will include. This
could hopefully help
intrigue the audience to
read more into the
magazine.
4. Main Title
Moreover, I have added a title to
my magazine, this will help the
audience to remember what
magazine it is and what it will
be about. I have chosen the
font type Semibold Italic. I
found this font clear to read
and understand and thought it
was suitable for the magazine.
Also, as the magazine involves
a lot of youthful people, the
font comes across more
friendly and less serious. I
chose the font size to be ‘60pt’
as it makes it clear for the
reader to see.
5. Coloured Stripes
Above and below the title I
have added a dark blue
strip with a dark purple
strip on top. Personally, I
believe that it makes the
title more bold and stand
out more. I chose the
colours dark blue and
purple as it matches the
school uniform and links
in. Also, they are quite
feminine colours and
Weatherhead High School
is an all girls school.
6. Date
In the top right hand
corner I have added in
the date. This allows
the audience to know
when the issue of the
magazine was
released. Also, it will
show whether or not
it is weekly or a
monthly magazine.
7. School Details
In the bottom left and
corner of my school
magazine I have
included school
details.
