(MRFC) and final evaluation and
approval will be done by the
Contingent Liability Fund-Steering
Committee (CLRF-SC).
The Annual EPEP will be evaluated
and approved by Mine Rehabilitation
Fund Committee (MRFC).
13. The Environmental Protection and Enhancement
Program (EPEP) provides the operational link
between the ECC and the environmental protection
and enhancement commitments of the company.
Focuses on the progressive land restoration and
subsequent reforestation.
Sets out the life-of-mine environmental protection
and enhancement strategies based on best mining
practices.
Mining Act and IRR
ANNUAL EPEP
Expenses for the AEPEP should be included in the
Project’s annual budget and is subject to annual
audit by the MRFC;
Operating a mining project without an approved
EPEP/AEPEP is subject to penalties;
Must be submitted to the Mines office at least 30
days prior to the beginning of every calendar year.
Failure to comply with the EPEP requirement
would be sufficient ground for the suspension of
mining contract/permit.
Phil. EIS Law
ECC
Document certifying that all identified
impacts and concerns are addressed,
discussed and agreed upon.
Scientific and acceptable mitigating
measures focusing on environment
in executing the project are translated
into conditionalities.
Unjustifiable compliance with the
conditionalities compels the issuing
agency to impose penalties and/or
sanctions.
