2. INTRODU
CTION
I observed and thought about how my life as being in a farmer’s family
and connected to my village and roots has an impact on my personality
and respect for the nature and the culture of our country, and always felt
a way through which most of the people can also experience the lifestyle
on a farm and a village, coming out of their comfort zones with a
medium of an Agritourism resort.
The below studies and literature show what and how Agritourism can
make an impact on the nature, people, economy and lifestyle.
Agritourism or agrotourism involves any agriculturally based operation
or activity that brings visitors to a farm or ranch.
World Tourism Organization defines agritourism as: “involves
accommodation being offered in the farm house or in a separate
guesthouse, providing meals and organizing guests’ activities in the
observation and participation in the farming operations.”
Agri-tourism is a way of sustainable tourist development in rural areas,
through which the person visiting the place has the opportunity to get
aware with agricultural areas, occupations, local products, traditional and
regional food and the daily life of the rural people, as well as the cultural
elements and traditions. This activity also helps people escape the urban
concrete, relax and be entertained.
3. AIM AND
OBJECTIVES
1) Promotion of agriculture
2) Development of rural sector.
3) Development of ecological and education
oriented tourism for urbanites.
4) To provide the town with employment and
help to stop migration , which has become an
issue as far as the town population is
concerned.
5) To understand rural culture and environment
and its implementation
4. Need for AGRO
Tourism
Nature is an open opportunity for learning without any
closed doors or walls. If nature is observed carefully, you
can explore the treasures which are hidden in it and get to
know more things about it. As India is a country that has a
majority of the population depending on agriculture,
people would get to learn more information from it. The
population belonging to urban areas is increasing on a
daily basis and the children belonging to the urban
families are able to view nature on television. This is
because they are very much restricted to closed buildings,
video games, junk foods, the internet, and all the activities
which would spoil them physically and mentally. People
living in urban areas also stopped visiting their relatives in
rural areas as they got habituated to a comfortable life in
the cities. These days, Agriculture is becoming a business
and most of the poor people are not in a position to
afford it. There is also à slow decrease in the fertility of the
