Dear Columbus State Associates,
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Douglas W. Cain. I hope that my education
and experience will meet your requirements for the Adjunct-Criminal Justice (Pool)
(Columbus Campus). After obtaining many goals in my career as a Sergeant of Corrections,
Deputy Sheriff and Ohio Peace Officer Certified Instructor, I would like the opportunity to
expand my skills and education while seeking new challenges.
As you will note from my resume, I have the qualifications that are required to fulfil a
position as an Adjunct – Criminal Justice (Pool). As a retired Law Enforcement Officer, I
have demonstrated abilities in investigative, communication, analytic, organizational, and
solution solving skills. I also have instructed in the OPOTA aspect in the Correction Field.
My philosophy in teaching is developing a curriculum that involves on the job experience.
I believe that to be an effective instructor your students must obtain a grasp on pertinent
information while retaining the ability to use it successfully in the Criminal Justice field.
