Dear Program Director,
I have enclosed a copy of my C.V. for your reference. Please note that I am currently
enrolled at Northern Arizona University in the Master of Education Program with a focus on
Community College and Higher Learning. My expected graduation is May of 2016.
I have worked part time for Fortis College for two years as a clinical instructor. I have
participated in calibration with other staff, student conferences, mock anesthesia board exams,
and mock clinical board exams. I have also led team briefing meetings and one-on-one clinical
remediation with seven students from three different cohorts who did not pass the mock board in
the final clinic. After the remediating hours, all of these students went on to pass their state board
exams. I am passionate about retention for the college, and take pride in students and the college
when students are successful.
I possess several of the qualities necessary to be an effective educator.
Strong communication and technical skills necessary to provide academic support
and improved student success in both critical thinking and clinical skills.
Experience in hands on clinical instruction in dental hygiene therapies, radiology,
and clinical remediation.
Understanding the importance in being a contributing faculty team member with a
collaborative spirit.
In addition, I have a good understanding of other departments within higher education
like student services, admissions, financial aid, and other non-dental hygiene positions. My
demonstrated skills and experience would be a good fit with your instructional needs and dental
hygiene educational program.
