Before deciding to pursue my Associates Degree in Business Administration I too was trying to receive my degree in Early Childhood Education
and Development. I have a 2 year old daughter so I realized my passion for being a mother and I had decided I wanted to teach preschool. My reason
for deciding to change my associate degree was for more opportunities for advancement and income. I find it incredible that you are a nanny, it
probably takes tons of patience and also extremely fun.

The child that I chose for my observation is a two–year–old; Caucasian, female named Crystal. While observing her in a private facility, I was able to
determine if she is behind, right on target, or advanced in areas of development. I observed her physical, intellectual, social and emotional

However, the best evidence of advanced cognitive thinking is in Crystal's language development. She speaks as though she is five or six years old.
Crystal has very advanced language for her age. For example, she said "I am not a baby, I just did it because I am lazy," with a smirk on her face and
her hand on her hip. Crystal's emotional and social skills are very normal and well developed. Preschoolers often experience an emotion called empathy.
Empathy is "the ability to recognize and respond sympathetically to the feeling of others." (Beck 355–357) In one incident, a child fell down and
Crystal ran to the girl and tried to help the little girl. Crystal made sure she was all right. Crystal also is very active in social relationships. During
"share time" Crystal shows doesn't show any signs of shyness. She always gets up in from of class and talks about everything and anything. She is
very cooperative in her play with others. When it comes to positive discipline, she understands that what she did was wrong and sits very quietly in a
"time out" until her two minutes is up. Crystal is very sociable and friendly. She can walk right up to another child, even if she doesn't know them and

A few of the most important things are care, affection, attention, and intellectual stimulation. The parent's role in the infant's life not only guides the
psychological development, but it can also affect the child's biological development (Belsky, 2008). If an infant does not get enough stimulation for
a long period of time, the infant may have trouble developing correct sensations, motor skills, and perceptions. There are four main styles of
parenting; authoritarian, permissive, uninvolved, and authoritative. Each of these styles of parenting has their own characteristics which apply to
how the parent raises the child. The authoritarian style of parenting generally means that the parent is overbearing and does not feel the need to
explain anything to the child. In this type of environment the child does not receive much freedom at all and is not able to make decisions on his or
her own. This approach to parenting can generally do more harm than good because eventually the child will find it necessary to rebel against anyone

My Memories Of My Early Childhood Essay
My earliest memory I remember as a child is around the age of two years old. My Mother would put me in the playpen but I refused to stay. I was
able to climb out of it. I remembered my Mother's face expression that let me know that I better not climb out of the playpen again. This was one of

My preparation for becoming a teacher began in grade 12. During this year I coached the varsity field hockey team at my high school and I became
a camp counsellor. Both roles were very different, but taught me about the importance of leading by example and giving positive feedback to

Reflection For Early Childhood Education
Throughout my course work I have learned how essential Early Childhood Education is to the proper growth and development of young children.
Without quality care young children can be limited socially, emotionally, and cognitively. Personally, my reasons for choosing ECE as my field of
study has matured into responding to the need to provide quality professionals that produce quality care to every child regardless of ethnicity, ability,

always pleasant to be around. They are growing and developing into being an individual, which can look very messy as they learn how to
communicate, to work with others, empathize, self–regulate, as well as not lick everything. In fact, as a developing educator I must first understand that
this profession is not for the faint at heart. It takes dedication, commitment, time, attention, and continued professional development while utilizing
evidence–based research to ensure I have the necessary tools to meet my students' demanding needs. Loving children is certainly part of the job,
however, there are elements in love that are necessary to produce effective care. For instance, guidance is an essential element of love as boundaries are
another(Gonzalez–Mena, 2017,p.175). Without guidance or boundaries, a child will have a difficult time self–regulating and understanding the limits
within their environments. Children need assistance to grow and develop through the various factors that are often at conflict with one

Our fourth obstacle is also dealing with colors. There are three cones setup. Under each cone is a car. Two cars are blue and the other car is silver.
CJ's job is to find the silver car. He must look under the cones until he finds the silver car. Next is another physical activity. CJ must stand a certain
distance, measured by a piece of tape, from a bucket. The object is to throw the three balls into the bucket. This tests the development of arm motion
and coordination. Finally, the last obstacle deals with conservation. Conservation is the idea that physical characteristics of objects remain the same
when their outward appearance changes. This comes from Piaget's preoperational stage. We had two glass filled with the same amount of liquid. CJ
was asked if the two glass had the same amount. Next we poured one glass of liquid into a bowl, and asked if they had the same amount or if one had
more. Of course CJ could not answer this question. In early childhood, children cannot conserve.
All of the cognitive activities deal with Piaget's theory. In early childhood, children move from the sensorimotor to the preoperational stage. During this
