 RNA Genomed virus
 The full form of COVID-19 is CO-VI-D-19 where CO
means Corona, VI means Virus, D means Diagnosis, 19
means 2019
 Zoonotic disease specially from cats, camels, Bats
 Infection ranges from common cold to MERS(Middle
East Respiratory Syndrome), SARS(Severe Acute
Respiratory syndrome)

9.  WBC count may vary leucopenia/ leucocytosis

tissue
 Increased ferritin level
 Increased AST, ALT
 Increased ESR, D-Dimer, Procalcitonin
 Virus conformed by PCR technique

 Ground glass opacification for consolidation
 B/L peripheral involvement specially lower lobe
 Culture: not done for precaution purpose

I. Maintain ABC
II. Ventilation if required
III. Isolation to prevent spread
IV. Correction of electrolytes imbalance
V. Correct temperature

12. Antiviral drugs: lopinavir, ritonavir, favilavir, remdesivir
etc.
Antimalarial drugs:- chloroquine also using
Steroid therapy: if needed
