As the Business Community Liaison for Turner Job Corps / ETR, I am honored to write a letter of
reference for Mr. Devin Townes. During his time in the Job Corps program, he has been an active
participant and volunteer in activities hosted by my department.
Activities on the Turner Job Corps Center cover many events that include our community partners. Mr.
Townes participated in events such as our Cancer Awareness program and our Y2Y Walk to Stop
Violence. These programs included as many as 500 participants. I can always count on Mr. Townes
positive attitude to help our events go smoothly.
Our students also volunteer in many off center activities. One such event that comes to mind when I
think of Mr. Townes was his participation with the staff of the Albany Fire Station Training Center during
their Hazardous Materials Training. Mr. Townes, was a volunteer victim, and handled himself positively,
represented our Center in a professional manner, in spite of the heat.
Having worked for three colleges prior to my role with Turner Job Corps, I feel very confident in
recommending Devin Townes to you. He possesses the personal and professional qualities employers
are looking for in today’s market. He demonstrated his willing to learn while on our Center. He is
professional, has excellent communication skills, and demonstrates a positive attitude, even under
pressure.
