The children of GPS Mahmood Nagar III in Hyderabad conducted an activity to track out-of-school children in their community. They felt there was a misconception about girls' education in the Muslim community. They created awareness about the importance of girls' education by organizing a rally, visiting homes door-to-door, and sharing examples of successful women. Feel: The area of Mahmood Nagar is slum area. The children of GPS Mahmood Nagar III felt
the problem of child education now days. As a state of common “an educated woman can change whole
family”. I n the area of Muslim community there was a wrong concept in their mind about girls’
education. The children of GPS Mahmood Nagar III felt to break the misconception.
Imagine: The children of the school imagined to create girl child education awareness of high
studies environment in the Muslim community to make up their good dreams. They wanted to break
the imbalance between boys and girls education and rights also. They wanted to prove the necessity
of candle light in the dark home. They planed to aware in the slum area.
Do: The five children of GPS Mahmood Nagar III discussed among themselves about the girl
child education. First the five children aware in their friend circle in the school changed their mind
set into the necessary of girl child education now days. The five brought rally with their friends and
visited door to door with parents. Motivated to parents with their communicative skills. The five
children visited to slum area also. The children gave more live examples like President of India
Prathiba Patil, astronaut Sunitha Williams, mathematician Shakunthela Devi, etc. Within
seven days some parents send their girls children to school actively.
Share: The GPS Mahmood Nagar III children shared this adventure to their parents, friends,
neighbors, Muslim community, another schools. They saw change in the community by the sharing. They
proved that challenge is first step of success.
