3. Introduction
Overview of E-waste
Electronic waste or e-waste describes
discarded electrical or electronic devices.
Used electronics, which are destined for
refurbishment, reuse, resale, salvage
recycling through material recovery, or

Importance of E-waste Recycling
E-waste is growing, and the need for
effective electronics recycling programs
comes with that surge. According to a
January 2022 report from the World
Economic Forum, E-waste is now the
fastest-growing waste stream in the world,
with an estimated waste stream of 48.5

Overview of E-waste
Reduce
• Donate or Sell Working Electronics
• Use your Old Mobile Phone as a GPS Device
• Consume Less in Order to Reduce E-waste
Recycle
• E-waste recycling is the reuse and
reprocessing of electrical and electronic
equipment’s of any type that has been
discarded or regarded as obsolete
Reuse and Repair
• Another way to reduce e-waste is to redeploy
existing items to new owners. When electronic
devices and electrical equipment break down,
• They can often be repaired
7. E-WASTE GENERATING IN LPU
• According to our analysis in a semester maximum of 10
computers become e-waste in LPU, 1000 different types of
lights, 15 fans, 7-8 fans, 3 or 4 Air Conditioners, 1 or 2
refrigerators in apartments, nearly 10 coolers, 3 or 4
projectors and some other types of printers, machines,
photocopy machines nearly 6 to 8.
8. E-WASTE TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES
AND LABOR EXPENSES
• According to our analysis, LPU will get nearly Rs. 10,000 for selling
the e-waste in one half of the year, LPU gives e-waste transportation
and labor cost of nearly Rs. 25, 000. For getting an E-Waste pollution-
free certificate LPU faces nearly Rs. 15,000 in losses. They were
transporting this E-wastes in the nearby state of Haryana facing these
much losses

MACHINES
Equipment for E-
Waste Recycling
Cirrus: It helps in segregating e-scraps
from plastics and other such materials. It is
an innovation and uses high resolution NIR
sensors. It also has color sensor and has all
metal detector. The equipment does work
efficiently and as per requirement to make
the segregation work easy. Using this
machine can boost up speed .
L-Vis: It is used as a segregator to separate
different items from the whole chunk. It
uses state of the art high resolution camera
to do its job. It separates small particles,
minerals, scraps, pellet, etc. Some of the
basic features of it are:
•it uses color and shape in order to detect and separate
each one of them.
11. CONCLUSION
• E-waste is going to create a lot of problems
in the future. E-waste management is of
utmost importance. Proper management is
necessary to minimize its ill effects on human
beings and nature. So being responsible citizen
we should play a role in e-waste management
by donating electronic items for reuse, which
extends the lives of valuable products and
keep them out of the waste management
system for a long time. When buying
electronics products, always try for those that
are made with less toxic constituents, use
recycled content, are energy efficient, and are
designed for easy upgrading.
