Assembly in New York hosted the UN Sustainable
Development Summit, which approved new development
targets
• During 2016 Ukraine set up the High-Level Inter-
ministerial Working Group and 17 Working Subgroups
(one for each goal) and held 32 round tables.
• In 2017 Ukraine developed and presented baseline report
“Sustainable Development Goals: Ukraine”
• 21 August 2019 the Government passed its Order 686-
p“Data collection issues for monitoring the SDG
achievement”
• In autumn of 2019, the President of Ukraine adopted
Order #722/2019 on the integration of SDGs into the
policy development machinery of Ukraine

3. SDG BRIDGE UKRAINE: KEY PRIORITIES
• Design and launch a mechanism for SDGs mainstreaming into national and regional policies, strategies and
programming process
• Strengthen the internal government coordination mechanism for SDGs implementation and monitoring
• Support three pilot Ministries on SDGs mainstreaming at the national and regional level to align their
policies with SDG targets
• Support dialogue around SDGs to maintain policy momentum
• Integrate SDGs into Governmental mid-term development plans and Common Results Frameworks agreed
between the Government and Development Partners in the framework of the three-tier ITA coordination
system
• Contribute to the preparation for the Ukraine Reform Conference 2022
4. SDG BRIDGE UKRAINE: REGIONAL DIMENSION
• Three selected Ministries will receive support to align their policies with SDG targets. MinRegion has been
pre-selected at the project design stage to receive dedicated support on elaboration of guidelines for
regionalization and localization of SDG targets, and two others will be selected soon in coordination with
SCMU
• Project is anchored in national-level governance mechanisms, but the partner-ministries will be supported
in their work at the regional level as well
• In partnership with the Ministries and their networks, and in coordination with the SIDA-funded UNDP
Empowered Partnership for Sustainable Development Project, SDG BRIDGE will initiate top-down
initiatives and harvest the local-level good practices for dissemination
• Incorporation of lessons learned on SDGs localization from the regional level into the national-level
transformations
• Project will provide support on coordinating regional outreach, in particular through the advisory support
to the establishment and development of the Offices for European integration and SDGs and regional
development agencies
• Institutional capacity at the regional level to promote SDGs and European integration will be enhanced
