2. Vision and Mission
• “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and
sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40 (NIV)
Vision Statement
Helping Hands Outreach Ministry is a faith based ministry committed to being a 24/7 outreach
ministry to the community by helping those in need regardless of their circumstance.
Mission Statement
Is to share God’s love by reaching out to every need in this community by empowering lives,
creating opportunities, and strengthening the bonds that will provide hope and healing by sharing
God’s love with each individual that we get the opportunity to minister to within our community.
Who We Serve
We strive to provide food for children, homework help, love, and guidance to every individual
with a need in this community, regardless of race, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, or social
background. We are committed to empowering lives for those that suffer from addictions, such as
alcohol or drug dependency, loss of jobs, and depression.
3. Hunger is Real
• For many kids, lunch at school may be the last meal
they eat until they're back in class the next morning or
after the weekend. But no child should go to bed
hungry.
4. What will you do?
• This year, the United States reached a painful milestone. For the first
time ever, over half the public school students in this country are
from low-income families.
• In every community, kids are coming to school hungry, making it
almost impossible for them to succeed.
• They come to school very weak and tired due to lack of food on the
weekends.
6. Truth
• 1 in 5 kids in America doesn't get the food they need every day. This
takes a terrible toll on their health and development, and threatens
their futures in profound ways. It also drags down our nation's
economy by perpetuating the cycle of poverty.
7. Twelve states exhibited statistically significantly higher household food-insecurity rates
than the U.S. national average 2013-2015 (13.7%)
1.Mississippi 20.8 %
2. Arkansas 19.2 %
3. Louisiana 18.4 %
4. Alabama 17.6 %
5. Kentucky 17.6 %
6. Ohio 16.1 %
7. Oregon 16.1 %
8. North Carolina 15.9 %
9. Maine 15.8 %
10. Oklahoma 15.5 %
11.Texas 15.4 %
12. Tennessee 15.1 %
8. What about Summer
Months ?
Helping Hands Outreach volunteers work
hard to get bags fixed and delivered every
other week during the summer While we
strive to feed every child it is impossible to
feed them all due to limited funds.
9. What we Do
• A teacher told me once that she noticed that a child was not acting
right they were very weak , very tired, and pretty much not focusing
on school and she asked him what was wrong and the child said they
had not ate anything the whole weekend. That is where Helping
Hands Outreach comes in and makes sure these kids are getting what
they need to survive the weekend.
10. Pack a Bag
• We start with the smallest of these who want to help others and
bring joy into the homes once again.
11. “for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I
was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick
and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will
answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty
and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and
clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the
King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it
to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’”
Matthew 25:35-40 NKJV
