13. Now it’s your turn to find some fractions…
The easiest way to do this is with food…Can you cut
your sandwich into ½ s or ¼ s?
What about a pizza or cake?
How about drawing a pizza and cutting out different
fractions or making one with playdough?
Have you got any Lego lying around? Can you make 2 ½ s
or 4 ¼ s out of different coloured bricks?
Now try the next activities… You can draw the shapes
on paper/in your books if you want to or just have a
chat about the answers with your grown ups.

16. Meet Boris, Norris and Morris
Boris, Norris and Morris have been naughty!
They need to be kept apart for a while!
Your task is to divide their space
up so they have ⅓ of the cage each
and ⅓ of the food each too!

17. Which of these cages can the zoo keeper use?
Remember: all 3 monkeys have to have the same amount of
space each!

18. Can you show us how much you’ve learned now?
Colour these shapes in different ways and write the fraction
you have created.
