1. David J. Mihok
Supply Chain Executive
Mr. Mihok is currently Executive Director of Global Supply Management and Corporate Real Estate for
Unisys Corporation. Prior to this role he has held senior executive Supply Management positions with
Fortune 100 companies. Mr. Mihok was Senior Vice President of Supply Chain for SunTrust Incorporated,
Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer for the Marsh and McLennan Companies. Additionally, he
served as Managing Director, Marsh Inc. Global IT Sourcing and Acquisition. In 2000, Mr. Mihok joined
Mercer Management Consulting as a Managing Partner and leader of the Supply Chain Practice.
Prior to joining Mercer, Mr. Mihok was an IBM Supply Chain executive responsible for developing and
deploying global software, hardware and services strategies. In addition, he has held a number of senior
management positions in IBM’s Global Strategic Sourcing and Fulfillment organizations. Mr. Mihok has
successfully led and managed over $24 billion of direct and indirect commodity spend across various
categories. Mr. Mihok developed a wide range of Business Process Management models pertaining to
strategic process design and effectiveness, outsourcing, insourcing, transaction streamlining,
performance and process metrics and e-business transformation.
Mr. Mihok has directed and successfully implemented a wide variety of global supply chain and fulfillment
channel strategies. These strategies range from enterprise software licensing, hardware and services
relationships to light industrial manufacturing and distribution support teams. The strategies have typically
focused on global sourcing initiatives, optimization of supply base, competitive benchmarking, leveraging
of requirements, increasing service levels, process re-design, cost savings, demand management,
corporate governance, organization transformation, improving customer satisfaction and the
transformation to business-to-business e-commerce solutions. Aggressive sourcing strategies
implemented resulted in over $1B in annual cost savings and significant competitive advantage. Mr.
Mihok has also led tactical reengineering teams in process redesign, simplification and automation while
implementing new or enhanced procurement infrastructures in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
More specifically, Mr. Mihok has implemented robust global sourcing and supply chain strategies for a
variety of solution based business offerings in the following areas: strategic outsourcing; systems
integration; application development and maintenance; call centers; help desk and managed and flexible
staffing requirements. Additionally, in support of the offerings noted above, he has directed a world-class
business design strategy for acquiring information technology skills (e.g. programmers, engineers, project
managers, etc.) through a network of pre-qualified suppliers. This strategy and model has been replicated
around the world resulting in the exploitation of web-based technologies, electronic fulfillment of
requirements, best in-class pricing, re-deployment of resources and significant increases in speed and
time to market. In the software arena, Mr. Mihok led the sourcing initiatives in developing electronic
distribution and delivery of "shrink" wrapped offerings by implementing a web based delivery process.
This process allows users to obtain third party intellectual property electronically.
Mr. Mihok has successfully implemented IT sourcing strategies that utilize a network of low cost country
suppliers in Belarus, Russia, Latvia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Greece, Greater China, and India. By
establishing supplier competency segments, (application development, networking, database
management, etc.), coupled with a network of integrated suppliers, resulted in significant cost savings
while increasing on time deliveries and overall service levels. This strategy has resulted in a
predominately “buyerless" process driven by electronic fulfillment strategies.
Mr. Mihok has led numerous studies on business process management controls that have led to
identifying critical process and business exposures. These studies have been documented in process
control documentation and implemented as standards in new business redesign models.
Mr. Mihok received a B.B.A. in Management from St. Bonaventure University.
