1. What is a Senior Companion?
Senior Companion volunteers
provide assistance and friendship to
adults who have difficulty with daily
living tasks,such as shopping or
paying bills.We help these adults
remain independent in their homes
instead of institutional care.
Requirements for Volunteers
• Spend at least 15 hours per week
volunteering
• Greater than 55 years of age
• Pass a physical exam
• Attend monthly training
• Meet maximum income guidelines
Benefits for Volunteers
• Tax-free hourly stipend,and some
mileage and meal reimbursement
• Pre-service orientation and monthly
training
• Supplemental insurance while on duty
• Volunteering helps promote a positive
outlook on life
