Responsible for assisting the local Network Manager in the day to day running of
all repair and maintenance activities on the water distribution network covered by
a £2.3m operational budget across parts of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire and
the supervision and management of 14 customer facing Network Technicians.
Responsible for overseeing complex and large scale capital works in operational
area and for ensuring resources are managed to allow timely delivery of capital
projects.
Responsible for difficult and complicated customer complaint resolution and for
mentoring and improving the customer service skills of all 14 technicians. This
requires constant performance monitoring and active management.
Responsible for carrying out on site water quality, health and safety and work
quality audits on front line dig teams.
Responsible for liaising directly with our repair and maintenance contractors to
ensure timely and efficient repairs to all leaks in the driest region in the UK to
ensure protection of water resources.
Responsible for communicating all company procedures and operational changes
to all members of staff and ensuring that an auditable process of briefings is
carried out.
Responsible for close liaison with leakage targeting team to highlight areas of
increased leakage and prioritise leakage detection work.
Responsible for continual auditing of front line processes and working practices to
promote health and safety at work and a “make it safe make it home” attitude.
Responsible for ensuring that the water regulations are enforced proactively with
all customers to minimise leakage on private water supply pipes.
Responsible for promoting a sustainable waste management process within the
team to minimise wastage, increase recycling and reduce the company’s carbon
footprint.
In 2013/14 whilst still overseeing my day job above I also completed my Senior
Technician’s Licence To Operate, ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership &
Management and a TAQA City & Guilds Assessors Aware. In 2015 I have also
completed a 6 month secondment as a Duty Manager in the Operational
Management Centre.

Lincolnshire and Ruthamford.

Working as part of a small team, responsible for the day to day running of the
distribution network. Duties include carrying out maintenance work, planned and
emergency valve operations, dealing with customers and contractors, authoring

participate in a standby rota.
