1. The California Vipers Baseball Club is
Orange County’s preeminent youth
baseball Club organization. Forming
in 2006 as the SoCal Rebels with a
group of seven year olds competing in
the 8U (eight and under) Kid Pitch
Amateur Baseball Tournament Sea-
son, the players quickly raised their
game to the top of the competition in
California’s regional play. In the
team’s second year of competition, it
won three regional tournaments, fin-
ished as runner up in another, and
placed 5th in the USSSA World Series,
while concluding its season as the
reigning California State Champions.
As the kids enter into their third full season, the
team has officially become a non-profit organi-
zation, while adopting a new team name and
mascot. This was done to broaden the scope of
the program to provide instruction to a larger
group of kids in multiple age divisions. Today,
the California Vipers Baseball Club provides
advanced baseball instruction to Orange
County’s area youth ranging from nine to twelve
years of age.
The coaching staff is among the best in the area
for instructing kids how to play baseball. Each
are accomplished veterans of baseball and have
specific expertise as former major collegiate or
professional baseball players. This allows the
California Vipers to provide a level of advanced
instruction (unavailable from other Club teams)
at every field position for each player.
As the organization enters into the 2008 amateur
tournament season, the nine year old team has
already defended its California State Champion-
ship title and is currently ranked in the Top 10
teams in the Western United States as recog-
nized by USSSA Baseball. Furthermore, the
nine year olds have secured a berth to compete
for a national title in the upcoming AAU
(Amateur Athletics Union) National Champion-
ships later in the year.

2. Philosophical Approach
Year after year, it is our vision to groom the
youth involved in the California Vipers Baseball
Club to be regarded as the best and most sought
after baseball players throughout the Southern
California region. As the kids mature, instruction
is provided commensurate to their age and capa-
bilities so that each player is advancing their skills
faster than many of their peers of the same age.
Our basic coaching philosophy is based on the
premise that fundamentals drive success. There-
fore, the Club’s coaching emphasis focuses on
mastering the basic skills, which allows each
player to build a heightened sense of confidence
to play the game at a much higher level.
Most, if not all, of our ball players come from the
ranks of other area Club teams and/or Little
League and Pony League All Stars. Each player is
a star in their own right and collectively as a
group, they make each other play the game better.
Yet, the California Vipers Baseball Club is not
solely about playing baseball. Although the or-
ganization is continually striving to develop and
build upon each player’s growing talents as young
ball players, we are as a team unit also nurturing
each child’s personal growth as children to be
more confident, competitive and self assured --
on and off the playing field.
As a result of the Club’s early success and grow-
ing respect given to the organization for teaching
baseball at the highest levels, the Club with the
support of corporate sponsors is now actively
forming multiple teams in multiple age divisions
for the benefit to a larger group of kids.
Sandlot Smash Converges with
California Vipers Baseball Club
In a measure to build a more influential and
competitive baseball organization for Orange
County youth, two area non-profit baseball clubs
are merging their operations under the existing
banner of the California Vipers Baseball Club.
The move is designed to offer advanced baseball
instruction at the highest competitive levels to a
larger group of kids from a staff of former
professional and major collegiate standouts.
The California Vipers baseball Club is officially
recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt non-profit
organization under article 501 (c) 3 of the 1986
tax code. The expanded organization is managed
by a Board of Directors and an appointed
committee of player representatives.
The new California Vipers organization will
initially manage three to four independent
amateur youth baseball teams for youth ranging
in age from nine to twelve. More teams may be
added in the near future.
