2. About EO Rise
• Founded in 2015
• Formed one 11U team
• Played in 2 AAU and 1 YBOA Tournaments
Our Mission
To create a positive and safe learning environment for children where
they can learn the fundamentals of team sports in order to help them
grow up to become respectful, confident and responsible individuals.

3. What does RISE stand for?
• R – Respect for parents, coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials.
We expect our player’s behavior to be beyond reproach.
• I – Intellect both on and off the court. Each player will be required to
submit a report card each marking period.
• S –Sacrifice. Not only on the court, but to help those less fortunate.
• E – Effort. Teach kids the rewards of hard work.

Matt DeFiglio
• B.S. in Marketing Management from Siena College (’92)
• Played 3 seasons of Division 1 College Baseball
• Currently National Sales Manager of Applied Concepts, Inc.
• Wife (Amy) and two children (Derek and Giselle)
• Been coaching youth basketball for 4 years
Tony Hutton
• M.S. in Health Administration and Business Administration
• Played 1 season of Division 3 College Basketball
• Currently employed with GE Healthcare and U.S. Army
• Wife (Faith) and two children (Alexa and JonAnthony)
• Been coaching youth basketball for over 7 years

Myron Taylor
• A.A. in Management from Valencia Community College
• Currently employed through Orange County as a Field Supervisor
• Wife (Lataviance) and two children (Brianna and Brandon)
• Has coached AAU on and off for 5 years and has coached Girls High School
Lamont Jones
• B.S. in Sports and Exercise Science
• Assistant Coach for Division II Johnson University
• Wife (Shannika) and son (Jaxson)
• Has coached AAU on and off for 15 years

Quincy Richardson
• B.S. in Recreation Administration from Columbus State University
• Played 4 seasons of Division II College Basketball
• Spent 10 years as a military contractor in the Middle East
• Currently National Sales Manager of Applied Concepts, Inc.
• Wife () and two children (Derek and Giselle)
• Has worked for the NBA and coached elite level AAU teams
Chris Brown
• B.S. in Sports Management at University of West Florida
• Played professionally in Turkey and Romania
• Currently operates Optimum Sports, LLC. Management agency.
• Wife (Marisela) and three kids (Mikel, Zach, and Arianna)
• Coached youth for over 5 years at AAU and school level

Thomas Bright
• B.S. in Pyschology from UCF
• Played 1 seasons of JUCO Football
• Currently Recreation Specialist with Orange County
• Been coaching youth basketball for over 8 years
Vareck Moody
• B.S in Parks and Recreation from Columbus State University
• Played 4 seasons of Division II College Basketball
• Spent 10 years as a military contractor in the Middle East
• Wife () and two sons
• Over 20 years of coaching experience in AAU, Middle School and rec
basketball

8. How many NBA players will
come out of our club?
According to ScholarshipStat.com
• Only 5.9% of all high school basketball players go on to
play in college at any level
• Only 1.2% of eligible college players were drafted by the
NBA
• Which means that the odds of a high school basketball
player making the NBA stands at .03%!

9. Goals and Objectives
• Teach the fundamentals
• Provide an supportive environment for those who aren’t
ready yet to grow into better players
• For those more advanced, prepare them to make and
compete on their school teams
• Create competitive AAU teams and rec teams
• Mentor kids on and off the floor
• Create a club that the East Orlando community can be
proud of

10. 2015/16 Schedule
• October through December – Skill development and training
• Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at Odyssey MS
• 6:30-7:30PM – Skill Development
• 7:00-8:30PM – 12U Practice
• November 7th – 12U Black and 12U Red will compete in the
Open Winter Springs Basketball League

11. 2015/16 Schedule
• Depending on volume of players at each age group and
available coaches, additional teams may be created to
begin play in January
• In January, 12U Black will begin AAU and YBOA
tournament play and 12U Red will play in either WSBL or
FBVA and local tournaments

12. Requirements of Parents
• Register child for AAU

• Enroll for the $16 membership
• Participate – Team parents, videographers, organize car pools,
fundraisers, statisticians, help find sponsors, coach, webmaster
• Be role models for all children in the club, both on and off the court
• Be on time

• Team Fee (For those on competitive teams)
• $295 per player per season (non-refundable)
• League Fees
• Tournament Fees
• Monthly Training
• $45 per month
• Bi-weekly training sessions each month (based on school calendar)
• RISE T-Shirt
• Mesh practice jersey

15. Summary
• With fundraising and sponsorships, we can reduce parents out of
pocket expense. Any ideas would be welcomed.
• There will be no child left behind. Money will never determine if a
child is part of EO Rise…REGARDLESS OF TALENT
• By bringing together diversified areas of East Orlando, we believe
we can help mold kids into productive members of society
