At the show, Datawatch's Chief Marketing Officer, Dan Potter, will provide Tableau analysts insight into how to blend complex datasets from extremely diverse data sources for self-service analytics. Potter's session will focus on the critical role that self-service data preparation plays in making these users "data heroes". Better insights come from using data that they never thought possible - like weekly sales report data from distribution partners, inventory reports from legacy ERP systems that only provide data from static PDF reports, and competitive market data from a web page. All of this data can then be visualized in Tableau. The session will show how faster analysis comes from pre-processing the data in a very natural, intuitive way - as 80 percent of most analysts' time is spent preparing the data.
