While SIP enabled VoIP technology is extremely
efficient and cost effective. To be able to make the

PBX (private branch exchange) is the bridge that connects the internal
telephones within a business and it also connects them to the PSTN
(public switched telephone network), VoIP Providers and SIP Trunks.

8. VoIP Phones
You will need telephones that can establish the
connection with PBX and enable the communication.
There are two options :-
• Use your existing traditional telephone: You can still
choose to use your existing telephones if you don’t want to
invest in new phones. However you will need to purchase
VoIP Adaptors that will convert the voice packets to analog
packets and enable the connection.
• Purchase VoIP Phones: Does not requires any additional
adaptor phones already have inbuilt IP technology.

9. Network Connection
Each phone needs to connect to the PBX through
network. So plan to have a network connection on
each location/desk where you plan to install a phone in
the office. If you have only one connection that will
work too. Most of VoIP phones have two ports. You
can connect network form Wall to phone and from
phone to your computer.
