1. Interact report-2011-12
On 27th August we conducted the first meeting of the year 2011-12 in our school. The important agendas
discussed in meeting were:-
1. Visiting Desire Society
Conducting games like running race, passing the ball including the entertainment and various
competitions.
Collection of amount to buy prizes.
Prize distribution
We gave circular to every student along with the portion list of 1st unit test. In circular, we mentioned that to
contribute the clothes, toys, books etc, for the HIV affected children aged between 2 to 15.
Amithkumar (Treasurer) collected Rs.500 from students to buy gifts and other stationery items.
We decided to have a visit to the Desire Society which is a registered non profit voluntary
organization working in India.
The main aim of this organization is to work for the children emphasizing on HIV positive victims.
Children abandoned by one or both the parents, children who have been abused and belong to poor socio-
economic conditions.
On 3rd ofSeptember, we planned to visit Desire Society on Saturday, after the school hours. We carried
cloths books, gifts in school van. we reachedto the society at 1.30 PM.
We were welcomed by shilpa ma’am, care taker of Desire Society. After 2’0 clock, the children of
Desire Society came and introduced themselves to us.
We began our day with cake cutting in which Vasanth, 4 year old boy had cut the cake. After cutting
the cake, we headed towards the games. We conducted running race. In which the children were divided into
2 batches. Both the batches performed well. After running race, we had the passing ball. In which the ball
was passed through each one of the children. At last we had 3 prize winners of passing the ball.
After the rigorous game, we had dance and singing competitions. Many of the talents were exposed
to us. We had invocation song sung by Hemalata a little child from Desire Society, followed by welcome
speech.
After all these things, we had the prize distribution, the prizes were distributed by Mr.Subhash, vice
president of Desire Society, Shilpa the caretaker of Desire Society and the teachers of Tapovan Academy.
Our teachers brought cakes, biscuits, snacks, chocolates etc, and given to the children of Desire Society. We
gave all the clothes and other stationery items to them. Our teachers and management also generously gave
cash donation.
At last we bid good bye to them and came back. We were joyful as we could see twinkle in eyes and
smile on faces of those unfortunate children.
2. Submission of report to DESIRE FOR CHANGE:
Feel:-Problems of HIV positive children, abandoned by one or both parents, children who have been
abused are touching many lives.
Imagine:- Holdmeeting with teachers and students and their parentsto bring
awarenessregardingHIV and the way our students can help the underprivileged children.
Do :- We can visit to such organisation and we did the same . we visited the Desire Society which is
a Non Profit making Organisation in India. We helped them in monetary and nonmonetary manner
and we observed the smiles on their face and twinkle in the eyes of unfortunate children. This is our
second visit to the same organisation.
