3. Reflection of light
● Reflection of light is phenomenon of bouncing back of light in same
medium on striking the surface of any objects [Defination].
● Every object is capable of and reflects light.We classify objects in 3 types
- Opaque, Translucent and Transparent.
● Opaque - The objects that do not allow light to pass through them.
● Translucent - The objects that allow light to pass through them but not
completely.
● Transparent - The objects that completely allow light to pass through
them.

4. Reflection of light
There exist 3 laws of reflection of light.
1. Angle of incidence = Angle of reflection
2. Incident ray, normal, point of incidence and reflected ray, all exist in the
same plane.
3. Parallel rays of light do not intersect.

Mirrors, whose reflecting surfaces are spherical, are
called spherical mirrors.
