Short Description
Overall in charge of fire station and fire operations. Responsible to ensure availability
and operability of emergency vehicles, firefighting equipment & accessories stowed in
vehicles and communication equipment at all fire stations.
Long Description:
Job Accountabilities:
 Handling of Fire Administration work (Maintaining the record of all fire
protection system and firefighting Equipments).
 Arranging for success of external / internal audits for fire prevention & protection.
 Operating Conventional & Addressable Fire Panels.
 Responsible for Fire Hydrant system, Hose Reel system, detection systems, fire
pump, fire tender, sprinkler systems, wet risers, smoke & heat detectors, gas
suppression systems to checking, testing & maintenance
 Dealing with refilling & Maintenance of all type of fire extinguishers.
 Accountable for inspection & maintenance of active and passive fire protection
systems like fire extinguishers, hydrant, fire detection system its functioning etc.
 Responsible for identifying hazardous/unsafe situations in on-shore/off-shore
terminal sites and coordination with concerned department for their rectification.
 Handling flammable & Explosive material like LPG/Petrol/Thinner/Paints.
 Developing technical specifications for fabrication of new fire fighting vehicles
like water tender, foam cum water tender, DCP tender, Emergency Rescue Tender
etc.
 Organizing Safety and fire prevention training classes for regular and contract
personnel covering Basic firefighting training & demonstration, hose handling,

 Immediate response to all emergency calls including mock drills and mobilization
of required resources to mitigate the emergency.
 Develop/Evaluate the Risk Assessment (RA) sheet for the specific job and make
necessary modifications therein,
 Provide necessary guidance to shift fire executive during routine shift activities
and during emergency operations.
 Participate in Risk Assessment sessions at plant level for all critical jobs and
ensure adequate fire prevention measures during such activities in the plant
including plant turnarounds
 Carryout resource planning and allocation
 Exhibit Incident Command & Control technique for emergency control &
mitigation.
 Impart training of fire personnel and others
 Ensure availability of all firefighting equipment/systems and communication
systems on ready to use basis.
 Assure reliability/performance of fire vehicles on fire vehicles.
 Suggest & ensure corrective measures based on the incident analysis.
 Ensure material availability and inventory management of charged store at fire
stations.
 Carryout Fire safety inspection round of the plant
 Carryout preliminary investigation all incidents and release Turnout report on
incident
