Current Immigration Issues
Researchers have argued that immigration policies affecting jobs, economy and border issues have no value and negatively affect our economy.
However, immigration policies regarding border issues and jobs have massively improved our economic growth rate. Our current Immigration policies
on border issues and economy have plenty of material value, but are often overlooked by researchers.
While, researchers argued that immigrants often take jobs and diminish the economy, there is substantial evidence undermining their claims. While,
immigrants are offered many work opportunities, they work for lower wages, and longer hours. According to a 2000 Census data, more than 30% of
immigrants don't impact the wages for native workers. Because thousands...show more content...
Researchers such as Professor Francine Blau agreed that immigrants in our economy contribute to economic growth, entrepreneurship, and innovative
ideas. She also states that they continue to have no impact on wages and native workers. Overall the increased labor market supply increased from the
help of immigrant workers. Because of immigrants our economy recovered from the great recession. These immigrants worked for other companies
and earned low wages for many years. They also opened up their own businesses and created economic job opportunities. The immigrant workers don't
pose any issues our current border policies. Without immigration, the economic growth would be weaker and job opportunities would be

Organizational Responsibility & Current Health Care Issues HCS – 545 11/19/2012 Organizational Responsibility & Current Health Care
Issues In today's modern world with plenty of technology, it is hard to believe that we cannot figure out how to reduce Medical errors. The issue of
medical error is not new in health care organizations. It has been in spot light since 1990's, when government did research on sudden increase in
number of death in the hospitals. According to Lester, H., & Tritter, J. (2001), "Medical error is an actual or potential serious lapse in the
standard of care provided to a patient, or harm caused to a patient through the performance of a health service or health care professional." Medical

The Organizational culture and structure can have real big impact on the quality of care either negatively or positively. If the organizational culture
is poor then it is really hard to provide best health care that can work effectively. Poor organizational culture creates poor work condition at the
facilities for workers, which leads to lots of stress and low quality of patient care. A many medical errors caused by employees, who were under lots
of stress and workload (Imhof & Kaskie, 2008). The organizational structure is as important as culture for health organizational to provide best
care to patients. According to Glickman, Baggett, Krubert, Peterson, and Schulman, (2008) "Organizational design is a formal, guided process for
integrating the people, information, and technology of an organization, and serves as a key structural element that allows corporations to maximize
value by matching their corporate design to overall strategy." It is really hard for large organizations to provide high quality of care when the
organization structure is not set properly. Most large health organization have their work divided into small tasks and each employee is responsible for
his or her duties. As I have discussed earlier communication is major problem in health organization that leads to many medical errors. Without clear

Current Ethical Issues
Current Ethical Issues University of Phoenix Ethics in Management PHL/323 June 12, 2011 In today's society there are many decisions made every
day that have an effect on not only a single person but can contribute to decisions and actions that many other people make as well. Many decisions
have an ethical standpoint that each person must address to make sure that it is a decision they are ready and willing to make. Each decision needs to
incorporate the main issues at hand, who it will affect and how, as well as any possible side effects from the decision. Recently, the Phoenix Police
Department of Arizona has been faced with many ethical dilemmas that have scared their image. Even though many in the police force have tried

Officers are thought to be people that can be trusted and will help uphold the law. It is rare to hear about an officer involved investigation as most
officers are able to maintain a good record and make confident decision with the moral code in place. The extra expenses to the city that these
investigations require are a major drawback that has an impact on not only the officers but the entire community. Because the officers have already
been screened they are often given the benefit of the doubt in the courts eyes and are allowed to continue their careers as long as they are able to
justify their decisions and ensure that they were within the law. Only when an officer has been accused of a crime that suits an investigation or is
connected to an Internal Affairs investigation are they required to take additional

The Most Important Issues in the Profession of Nursing Today
Introduction
In the medical fraternity, nurses make up the largest healthcare profession. The care of patients depends on the well–being of the nurses, and issues
affecting them may affect patients, directly or indirectly. As a profession, nursing, can be both an extremely rewarding and challenging activity. A
number of problems exist, and most are becoming worse because of lack of lack of mechanisms to address these issues. The three greatest issues
affecting nursing today include improving health education, lack of respect for nurses and cost cutting. Although these problems are not clinical, they
influence the efficiency of the performance of nurses in their delivery of services.
Cost cutting
Currently, nations are keen on cutting down costs, and to achieve this constant layoffs and hiring freezes are common practices. Although, this targets
most professions, nursing forms the easiest target given that the profession is one of the largest budgets in the health care profession (Hendren, 2011).
This creates fear among nurses and threatens their career as they have to struggle against the overwhelming wave of layoffs and job freezes. It is
paramount that organizations get suppler with scheduling and staffing while coming up with innovative ways of reducing costs without compromising
the quality of health care that patients get. These organizations should also adopt flexibility and change, which is a useful

Global Climate Change : A Proposal Argument
Global Climate Change: A Proposal Argument
Statement of the Problem
Climate change is not a new concept. It has been mostly referred to as global warming in the past. As much as people would like to file this issue
away as something to deal with at a later date, it simply cannot wait. This problem we face is costing us billions of dollars, forests and wildlife are
being eliminated, and people are dying. Starting to sound like a big deal, right? Future generations will be affected the most. People who do not
even exist will have to pay for what we, all people, have done to this earth. To begin to make changes, one must realize the severity of the issue. Bill
Mckibben, author of "Recalculating the Climate Math," conveys that "We've already raised the world's temperature by one degree–enough to melt
almost half the ice in the Arctic, kill off huge swaths of the world's coral, and unleash lethal floods and drought. July and August tied for the hottest
months ever recorded on our planet, and scientists think they were almost certainly the hottest in the history of human civilization" (Page 3 of 5). Global
climate change is a serious problem because it increases natural disasters and is the cause of extreme weather.
First, global climate change is a serious problem because it increases natural disasters. If you have ever watched the news in your lifetime, you know
that this issue is becoming more frequent and worse over time. "Globally, the number of reported weather–related

Social Issues In Social Work
Many problems remain in the American society such as the increasing number of people living in poverty, the juvenile crime rate, unaffordable housing
for the working middle–class and poor people, backlash against illegal immigration, and the shortfall in social welfare programs (black). Social
workers try to combat these problems, which are a result of society, economics, and development problems. Social work in the United States is a
profession about promoting and offering social services through practicing with people, communities, and organizations; advocating with and for
clients; and creating social work knowledge (Writing in social work). Social work in the United States utilized the direct practice with individuals,
families, and communities. Social workers need to continue to advocate for social problems (Writing in social work).
During poor law times, society aimed to exclude and discriminate against those who don't belong (red). This trend has continued through today, as
the exclusion of people still exists. The legacy of workhouses and of the Poor Law remains today in the ideology that the family should be the main
provider of care for those in need, poor people should be deterred from seeking help, and public assistance should be below the minimum wage (red).
In the 19th century, Rescue organizations emerged to prevent child cruelty (red). These organizations were a voluntary effort with the task of
investigating and bringing justice to child cruelty. Today, we

Current Issues and Trends in Assessment in Early Childhood Education
The 1980s brought a new reform movement in education, accompanied by a new emphasis on testing. The effort to improve education at all levels
included the use of standardized tests to provide accountability for what students are learning. Minimum competency tests, achievement tests, and
screening instruments were used to ensure that students from preschool through college reached the desired educational goals and achieved the
minimum standards of education that were established locally or by the state education agency. As we continue in a new century, these concerns have

enjoy charts, graphs, maps, tables, illustrations, art, puzzles, costumes – anything eye catching. 2. VERBAL/LINGUISTIC – children who demonstrate
strength in the language arts: speaking, writing, reading, listening. These students have always been successful in traditional classrooms because their
intelligence lends itself to traditional teaching. 3. MATHEMATICAL/LOGICAL– children who display an aptitude for numbers, reasoning and
problem solving. This is the other half of the children who typically do well in traditional classrooms where teaching is logically sequenced and
students are asked to conform. 4. BODILY/KINESTHETIC – children who experience learning best through activity: games, movement, hands–on

Contemporary Issues In Social Policy
Contemporary Issues in Social Policy
By Nazia Howell
October 2017
Social policy refers to the policies used by government for welfare and social protection (Spicker, P.) that are usually made by central Government and
implemented by local authorities to tackle current social issues such as poverty and racism. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have now devolved
and have their own laws and legislations on several issues.
This essay will explore three contemporary issues in relation to social policy, whilst supporting these issues with legislation and economic context for
each issue.
The three issues that will be explored are: Welfare, Health and Pensions. Defining social policy, and understanding social policy becomes imperative, to
enable understanding of the contemporary issues within it.
Social policy was introduced in the early 19th Century, post war. At this time,William Beveridge introduced the idea of a Welfare State to address
poverty. He released a report for social reform known as the 'five giants' within society: squalor, disease, ignorance, idleness and want. The welfare
state brought many positive improvements in Britain and Government passed reforms to address the poverty levels, introducing "cradle to grave
"support. The National Health Service was set up which gave free health care to all and laws and Acts were put in place to help the young, the old,
the sick the unemployed and the working class in times of need. The five issues raised by Beveridge

The Problems that Our World Faces Today Essay
The Problems that Our World Faces Today
The earth is considered as one of the most beautiful planets in the universe. It is the only planet in our galaxy that has enough water to support life.
Unfortunately our planet is suffering due to many problems which should be solved before it is too late. The major problems that are facing our world
today are population, pollution and animal extinction. One of the problems facing our world is population. It began about ten thousand years ago
when the humans settled and began farming. The farming provides more food for the people thus making the population grow. Now we are about 6

Pollution is another major factor that is threatening our world today. One example of pollution is nitrogen. Humans are adding about 130 to 150 million
tons over the 90 to 150 tons that are produced by the nitrogen cycle. This excess in nitrogen causes coastal waters and estuaries to grow toxic algae,
killing the fish and trapping the solar heat in the air. Another example of pollution is methane. Methane is produced by gases released by cows,
termite mounds or by the bottom of rice paddy. If found in the air methane is very poisonous. By raising more cattle, cutting more tropical forests,
thus increasing the amount of termites, and by growing more rice, the methane concentration in the air is almost twice as higher as it was 160,000
years ago. Smoke is another pollution factor. Smoke that is produced by cars contains carbon dioxide (CO2). This carbon dioxide in the air causes
global warming, which results in the green house effect and climate changes. Satellite studies show that perhaps we will increase the temperature by
3.6 degrees by the year 2001. The warmer the weather the more water it can hold, the higher the precipitation will be. The higher the precipitation the
more clouds, the more rain, and the more snow there will be. This will result in more storms and floods. Studies by Thomas Karl of the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration showed that the total winter precipitation in the US has increased to about 10% since

The article I found is about teenage bullying because I'm more interested in teaching high schoolers. Since I currently work with high schoolers I see
firsthand how mean some girls can be to other girls. There are different types of bullying but they all still have a large impact on students. Bullying is
unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. It includes behaviors that focus on
making someone else, usually the weaker person to feel inadequate.
Some of the different types of bullying are physical, verbal, emotional, and cyber bullying. Physical bullying is when the instigator tries to harm the
other person's body or possessions. It may include kicking, punching, or breaking someone's things. Verbal bullying is when the bully uses mean

Much of our waste is made up of glass, metal, plastic and paper. Our natural resources such as trees, oil, coal and aluminum are used up in enormous
amounts to make these products and the resources will one day be completely used up. So in order to cut down on the energy used lets reuse.
What can you do?
* Sort out your trash. Organic matter (e.g. potato peelings, left over food, tea leaves etc.) can be put in to a compost heap in the garden and used as a
good, natural fertilizer for the plants.
*Aluminum cans, glass bottles and newspapers are often collected from our doorsteps, but other items such as plastic bottles, juice cartons and
cardboard may not be, in which case they can be taken to nearby recycling banks. You can find out where they are by just searching on line. * Use
recycled paper to help save trees. Chlorine bleach is usually used to make newspapers and this pollutes rivers. It's better to use unbleached,
recycled paper whenever you can. * Take your old clothes to charity shops. Some are sold, others are returned to textile mills for recycling. * Try to
avoid buying plastic. It's hard to recycle. One way to cut down on plastic is to refuse to use plastic bags offered by supermarkets and use cloth
re–useable shopping bags instead, or re–use plastic bags over and over again, until they wear out and then recycle them.

Immunity means the presence in a person 's body of cells and substances known as antibodies that can produce a protective immune response. The
immune cells and antibodies attack viruses and bacteria or the toxins they produce, stopping them from multiplying and causing disease. Scientists take
many approaches to designing vaccines. These approaches are based on information about the germs (viruses or bacteria) the vaccine will prevent,
such as how it infects cells and how the immune system responds to it. Practical considerations, such as regions of the world where the vaccine would
be used, are also important because the strain of a virus and environmental conditions, such as temperature and risk of exposure, may be different in
various parts of the world. The vaccine delivery options available may also differ geographically.
IMPLICATIONS
BIOLOGICAL
For infectious diseases where immunisation can offer lifelong protection, a variety of simple models can be used to explain the utility of vaccination as
a control method. However, for many diseases, immunity wanes over time and is subsequently enhanced (boosted) by asymptomatic encounters with
the infection. The study of this type of epidemiological process requires a model formulation that can capture both the within–host dynamics of the
pathogen and immune system as well as the associated population–level transmission dynamics. Here, we parametrize such a model for measles

Current Immigration Issues

  • 1. Current Immigration Issues Researchers have argued that immigration policies affecting jobs, economy and border issues have no value and negatively affect our economy. However, immigration policies regarding border issues and jobs have massively improved our economic growth rate. Our current Immigration policies on border issues and economy have plenty of material value, but are often overlooked by researchers. While, researchers argued that immigrants often take jobs and diminish the economy, there is substantial evidence undermining their claims. While, immigrants are offered many work opportunities, they work for lower wages, and longer hours. According to a 2000 Census data, more than 30% of immigrants don't impact the wages for native workers. Because thousands...show more content... Researchers such as Professor Francine Blau agreed that immigrants in our economy contribute to economic growth, entrepreneurship, and innovative ideas. She also states that they continue to have no impact on wages and native workers. Overall the increased labor market supply increased from the help of immigrant workers. Because of immigrants our economy recovered from the great recession. These immigrants worked for other companies and earned low wages for many years. They also opened up their own businesses and created economic job opportunities. The immigrant workers don't pose any issues our current border policies. • 2. Current Health Care Issues Essay examples Organizational Responsibility & Current Health Care Issues HCS – 545 11/19/2012 Organizational Responsibility & Current Health Care Issues In today's modern world with plenty of technology, it is hard to believe that we cannot figure out how to reduce Medical errors. The issue of medical error is not new in health care organizations. It has been in spot light since 1990's, when government did research on sudden increase in number of death in the hospitals. According to Lester, H., & Tritter, J. (2001), "Medical error is an actual or potential serious lapse in the standard of care provided to a patient, or harm caused to a patient through the performance of a health service or health care professional." Medical errors...show more content... The Organizational culture and structure can have real big impact on the quality of care either negatively or positively. If the organizational culture is poor then it is really hard to provide best health care that can work effectively. Poor organizational culture creates poor work condition at the facilities for workers, which leads to lots of stress and low quality of patient care. A many medical errors caused by employees, who were under lots of stress and workload (Imhof & Kaskie, 2008). The organizational structure is as important as culture for health organizational to provide best care to patients. According to Glickman, Baggett, Krubert, Peterson, and Schulman, (2008) "Organizational design is a formal, guided process for integrating the people, information, and technology of an organization, and serves as a key structural element that allows corporations to maximize value by matching their corporate design to overall strategy." It is really hard for large organizations to provide high quality of care when the organization structure is not set properly. Most large health organization have their work divided into small tasks and each employee is responsible for his or her duties. As I have discussed earlier communication is major problem in health organization that leads to many medical errors. Without clear communication between Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Current Ethical Issues Current Ethical Issues University of Phoenix Ethics in Management PHL/323 June 12, 2011 In today's society there are many decisions made every day that have an effect on not only a single person but can contribute to decisions and actions that many other people make as well. Many decisions have an ethical standpoint that each person must address to make sure that it is a decision they are ready and willing to make. Each decision needs to incorporate the main issues at hand, who it will affect and how, as well as any possible side effects from the decision. Recently, the Phoenix Police Department of Arizona has been faced with many ethical dilemmas that have scared their image. Even though many in the police force have tried ...show more content... This leadership came into play, although all individuals involved are adults and accountable for their own actions, by the sergeants' participation giving the ethical impression to the subordinate officers' their actions are acceptable. Leadership is extremely important in every organization, and although Gary Marche reveals, "There is no evidence to support the "individual rotten apple" theory" he ties corruption to leadership as the fish is known to rot at the head (Marche, 51). When we think of Police Officers, we imagine individuals that are presented with a code of conduct. Officers are thought to be people that can be trusted and will help uphold the law. It is rare to hear about an officer involved investigation as most officers are able to maintain a good record and make confident decision with the moral code in place. The extra expenses to the city that these investigations require are a major drawback that has an impact on not only the officers but the entire community. Because the officers have already been screened they are often given the benefit of the doubt in the courts eyes and are allowed to continue their careers as long as they are able to justify their decisions and ensure that they were within the law. Only when an officer has been accused of a crime that suits an investigation or is connected to an Internal Affairs investigation are they required to take additional Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 5. The Most Important Issues in the Profession of Nursing Today Introduction In the medical fraternity, nurses make up the largest healthcare profession. The care of patients depends on the well–being of the nurses, and issues affecting them may affect patients, directly or indirectly. As a profession, nursing, can be both an extremely rewarding and challenging activity. A number of problems exist, and most are becoming worse because of lack of lack of mechanisms to address these issues. The three greatest issues affecting nursing today include improving health education, lack of respect for nurses and cost cutting. Although these problems are not clinical, they influence the efficiency of the performance of nurses in their delivery of services. Cost cutting Currently, nations are keen on cutting down costs, and to achieve this constant layoffs and hiring freezes are common practices. Although, this targets most professions, nursing forms the easiest target given that the profession is one of the largest budgets in the health care profession (Hendren, 2011). This creates fear among nurses and threatens their career as they have to struggle against the overwhelming wave of layoffs and job freezes. It is paramount that organizations get suppler with scheduling and staffing while coming up with innovative ways of reducing costs without compromising the quality of health care that patients get. These organizations should also adopt flexibility and change, which is a useful Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Global Climate Change : A Proposal Argument Global Climate Change: A Proposal Argument Statement of the Problem Climate change is not a new concept. It has been mostly referred to as global warming in the past. As much as people would like to file this issue away as something to deal with at a later date, it simply cannot wait. This problem we face is costing us billions of dollars, forests and wildlife are being eliminated, and people are dying. Starting to sound like a big deal, right? Future generations will be affected the most. People who do not even exist will have to pay for what we, all people, have done to this earth. To begin to make changes, one must realize the severity of the issue. Bill Mckibben, author of "Recalculating the Climate Math," conveys that "We've already raised the world's temperature by one degree–enough to melt almost half the ice in the Arctic, kill off huge swaths of the world's coral, and unleash lethal floods and drought. July and August tied for the hottest months ever recorded on our planet, and scientists think they were almost certainly the hottest in the history of human civilization" (Page 3 of 5). Global climate change is a serious problem because it increases natural disasters and is the cause of extreme weather. First, global climate change is a serious problem because it increases natural disasters. If you have ever watched the news in your lifetime, you know that this issue is becoming more frequent and worse over time. • 8. Social Issues In Social Work Many problems remain in the American society such as the increasing number of people living in poverty, the juvenile crime rate, unaffordable housing for the working middle–class and poor people, backlash against illegal immigration, and the shortfall in social welfare programs (black). Social workers try to combat these problems, which are a result of society, economics, and development problems. Social work in the United States is a profession about promoting and offering social services through practicing with people, communities, and organizations; advocating with and for clients; and creating social work knowledge (Writing in social work). Social work in the United States utilized the direct practice with individuals, families, and communities. Social workers need to continue to advocate for social problems (Writing in social work). During poor law times, society aimed to exclude and discriminate against those who don't belong (red). This trend has continued through today, as the exclusion of people still exists. The legacy of workhouses and of the Poor Law remains today in the ideology that the family should be the main provider of care for those in need, poor people should be deterred from seeking help, and public assistance should be below the minimum wage (red). In the 19th century, Rescue organizations emerged to prevent child cruelty (red). These organizations were a voluntary effort with the task of investigating and bringing justice to child cruelty. • 12. Contemporary Issues In Social Policy Contemporary Issues in Social Policy By Nazia Howell October 2017 Social policy refers to the policies used by government for welfare and social protection (Spicker, P.) that are usually made by central Government and implemented by local authorities to tackle current social issues such as poverty and racism. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have now devolved and have their own laws and legislations on several issues. This essay will explore three contemporary issues in relation to social policy, whilst supporting these issues with legislation and economic context for each issue. The three issues that will be explored are: Welfare, Health and Pensions. Defining social policy, and understanding social policy becomes imperative, to enable understanding of the contemporary issues within it. Social policy was introduced in the early 19th Century, post war. At this time,William Beveridge introduced the idea of a Welfare State to address poverty. He released a report for social reform known as the 'five giants' within society: squalor, disease, ignorance, idleness and want. The welfare state brought many positive improvements in Britain and Government passed reforms to address the poverty levels, introducing "cradle to grave "support. The National Health Service was set up which gave free health care to all and laws and Acts were put in place to help the young, the old, the sick the unemployed and the working class in times of need. The five issues raised by Beveridge Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. The Problems that Our World Faces Today Essay The Problems that Our World Faces Today The earth is considered as one of the most beautiful planets in the universe. It is the only planet in our galaxy that has enough water to support life. Unfortunately our planet is suffering due to many problems which should be solved before it is too late. The major problems that are facing our world today are population, pollution and animal extinction. One of the problems facing our world is population. It began about ten thousand years ago when the humans settled and began farming. The farming provides more food for the people thus making the population grow. Now we are about 6 billion in population and in a few years we will be around 10 to 11 billion. Therefore, our population will...show more content... Pollution is another major factor that is threatening our world today. One example of pollution is nitrogen. Humans are adding about 130 to 150 million tons over the 90 to 150 tons that are produced by the nitrogen cycle. This excess in nitrogen causes coastal waters and estuaries to grow toxic algae, killing the fish and trapping the solar heat in the air. Another example of pollution is methane. Methane is produced by gases released by cows, termite mounds or by the bottom of rice paddy. If found in the air methane is very poisonous. By raising more cattle, cutting more tropical forests, thus increasing the amount of termites, and by growing more rice, the methane concentration in the air is almost twice as higher as it was 160,000 years ago. Smoke is another pollution factor. Smoke that is produced by cars contains carbon dioxide (CO2). This carbon dioxide in the air causes global warming, which results in the green house effect and climate changes. Satellite studies show that perhaps we will increase the temperature by 3.6 degrees by the year 2001. The warmer the weather the more water it can hold, the higher the precipitation will be. The higher the precipitation the more clouds, the more rain, and the more snow there will be. This will result in more storms and floods. Studies by Thomas Karl of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration showed that the total winter precipitation in the US has increased to about 10% since Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Since I currently work with high schoolers I see firsthand how mean some girls can be to other girls. There are different types of bullying but they all still have a large impact on students. Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. It includes behaviors that focus on making someone else, usually the weaker person to feel inadequate. Some of the different types of bullying are physical, verbal, emotional, and cyber bullying. Physical bullying is when the instigator tries to harm the other person's body or possessions. It may include kicking, punching, or breaking someone's things. Our natural resources such as trees, oil, coal and aluminum are used up in enormous amounts to make these products and the resources will one day be completely used up. So in order to cut down on the energy used lets reuse. What can you do? * Sort out your trash. Organic matter (e.g. potato peelings, left over food, tea leaves etc.) can be put in to a compost heap in the garden and used as a good, natural fertilizer for the plants. *Aluminum cans, glass bottles and newspapers are often collected from our doorsteps, but other items such as plastic bottles, juice cartons and cardboard may not be, in which case they can be taken to nearby recycling banks. You can find out where they are by just searching on line. * Use recycled paper to help save trees. Chlorine bleach is usually used to make newspapers and this pollutes rivers. It's better to use unbleached, recycled paper whenever you can. * Take your old clothes to charity shops. Some are sold, others are returned to textile mills for recycling. * Try to avoid buying plastic. It's hard to recycle. One way to cut down on plastic is to refuse to use plastic bags offered by supermarkets and use cloth re–useable shopping bags instead, or re–use plastic bags over and over again, until they wear out and then recycle them. Considering this, many people/groups have varying outlooks on these issues meaning they may see the controversial issue through either a scientific or social view. Vaccinations are an extremely controversial topic not only in New Zealand but around the world, due to Andrew Wakefield 's fraudulent hypothesis of a connection between the MMR vaccine and autism. Immunity means the presence in a person 's body of cells and substances known as antibodies that can produce a protective immune response. The immune cells and antibodies attack viruses and bacteria or the toxins they produce, stopping them from multiplying and causing disease. Scientists take many approaches to designing vaccines. These approaches are based on information about the germs (viruses or bacteria) the vaccine will prevent, such as how it infects cells and how the immune system responds to it. Practical considerations, such as regions of the world where the vaccine would be used, are also important because the strain of a virus and environmental conditions, such as temperature and risk of exposure, may be different in various parts of the world. The vaccine delivery options available may also differ geographically. IMPLICATIONS BIOLOGICAL For infectious diseases where immunisation can offer lifelong protection, a variety of simple models can be used to explain the utility of vaccination as a control method. However, for many diseases, immunity wanes over time and is subsequently enhanced (boosted) by asymptomatic encounters with the infection. The study of this type of epidemiological process requires a model formulation that can capture both the within–host dynamics of the pathogen and immune system as well as the associated population–level transmission dynamics. Here, we parametrize such a model for measles Get more content on HelpWriting.net
