The economic crisis that showed all the contradictions of capitalism led to an increase of a deep political crisis in the USA in late 1920?s. October
29, 1929 is known in the American history as the Black Tuesday. It was the date, when the American stock market collapsed. In such economically
difficult situation, in November 1932, a regular presidential election took place. The Democrat Franklin Roosevelt, who spoke with the program the
New Deal, came to presidency. It was a series of social liberal programs applied in the United States in 1933–1938 in response to the Great Depression.

Franklin Delanor Roosevelt (FDR) is responsible for creating and establishing the New Deal which saved the United States after the Great
Depression. The New Deal was important because the United States was in a major financial hole and had to get itself out. After the stock market
crashed in 1929 there were millions of people who were struggling just to get something to eat and have a roof to sleep under. The program that FDR
created made it possible for the U.S. to get up and dust itself off. It created jobs and many organizations that were responsible for a lot of the public

America with many jobs to help rebuild America with jobs and culture.
This Contribution was made all over the U.S. It was made in homes of broken down families who were struggling just to get something to eat. It was
made in banks where people now had a reassurance that there money would be safe whereas before was not insured and had no guarantee of any
money should the banks lose all cash on hand. The contribution was made on the streets and structures that needed a new touch or just needed to be

Congress helped FDR tremendously by backing him whenever he needed to pass a bill that would help create jobs or help our country economically
should something of this nature ever happen again. So partly I believe FDR helped himself a lot by being the man he was and earning the trust and
loyalty of Congress and all of his fellow Americans who trusted FDR to turn this economic crisis completely around.
One obstacle that FDR faced was that taxes had to be raised and the national debt was increased with emergency funds being expended to fund
organizations to create more jobs. He also had to cut the budget of many government organizations such as the military, post office, and staff layoffs

In the 1930s America was experiencing what was the Great Depression, "the worst economic disaster in American History" (Foner, 158). The economy
had hit an all–time low and unemployment was at its peak. After elected, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's created the "New Deal", and it was the
greatest reform movement of its time. The "New Deal" provided a daring reform policy without starting a war or revolution. Even though many
criticized President Roosevelt for his "try anything" method and believed he was recklessly spending, he rescued the American economy of free
enterprise by stepping in and actually doing something that helped the economy. When Hoover was president, the gap between the rich and the poor
was so dramatic, the country probably would have had another revolution and blood would be shed. When President Roosevelt was elected, he
instated a series of reforms to help with the countless problems in America. Though many of the programs failed, some achieved lasting success and
still exist today. The New Deal provided lasting reforms like the Social Security Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act, and established exemplary

Supply became greater than demand on products. Certain people profited, but many others did not. As a result of this, prices went up and Americans
could not spare the money for many goods. While the wealth in America was not being distributed evenly, and overspeculation of thestock market led
to a lack of confidence, the United States began to fall into a deep depression that would last until the beginning of World War II (Gupta).
Faced with this economic decline, came other factors that included unemployment and lack of confidence in banks (Church 100). Restoring faith in

gold be returned and all of the $1,000,000,000 was deposited (Boardman 65). Banks were allowed to open only under a strict system of licensing

The creative people like painters and the writers they were also fostered and given platforms for their arts to be shown. The writers and film
makers got theaters to show their movies and the dramas. The colored artists also got opportunities to work in renowned places. The PWA planted
millions of trees and there was also Roosevelt's tree army helping in it. The farmers too got numerous help from the new deal though there was
drought they got facilities of electricity and other things and their lands were not taken away by the banks. The black people began to get jobs after
the new deal and different funds were allocated for the banks and schools to be established in the black neighborhoods. The black tenant farmers were
made the proprietors. Various black members were in the cabinet and there was very extensive political modernization in among the black people. They

President Franklin Roosevelt attempted to rescue the United States from the Great Depression through government programs and new laws to ensure
something so terrible would not happen again. Roosevelt created the Truth in Securities Act, making it illegal for banks to loan money to people to use
in the Stock Market. The "run on the banks", one of the major causes of the panic of the Great Depression, caused mostly by people being afraid of
losing their life savings in a failing bank, and rightfully so. Banks loaned out money for the Stock Market, and after the crash of the Stock Market
