Join us in Bedford for creative networking at The Quarry Theatre at St Lukes. There will be local inspiration - on the subject of good planning - and funding advice for businesses, including freelancers, from the Arts Council England. We are also here to celebrate the achievements of our network during 2015 and to look ahead together to 2016.
Independent dance producer Jih-Wen Yeh, will talk about the importance of the planning skills of a producer to the success of creative projects across the performing and visual arts.
The Quarry Theatre team will step front-of-house to offer practical planning advice, across the perspectives of: producing a local festival, an international festival and producing in a professional theatre.
Questions are welcomed by all our speakers. The evening also includes a chance to tell us about your work, and to chat informally.
With special thanks to The Quarry Theatre for generously providing our location.

13. There are many different
kinds of producers, and it is
for artists to seek the right
person by speaking to
different individual producers
to find the suitable one. A
producers can be the one
who assists only in the
planning, or the one
overseeing and managing all
aspects of the work. !

25. Professional Theatre!
The biggest challenges we’ve had so far!
@quarryatstlukes !
@CreativeBeds !
#CBNetworking!
Trying to meet everyone’s expectations while sticking to a budget, and while still sticking to
our own personal aims and artistic vision.!
Having enough hours in the day/building up our staff team! Also keeping our families/loved-
ones happy as they have hardly seen us for the past six months!!
Raising awareness of the fact that we’re here – people still regularly write to the local papers
saying “we need a theatre in Bedford” and they have us and The Place! We’ve had around
9,000 people through the door so far since the end of April 2015 so hopefully a few people
know we’re here at least.!
Because we’re brand new we’ve had to get systems into place as we’ve been going along.!
Learning by mistakes!
Getting our glass recycled!!!
