11. CIPC & the dti
• The past- Micro enterprises overburdened various legislation
• Enterprises with turnover 0-R10m had to comply with B-BBEE
requirements
• Under new legislation (October 2013) micro enterprises exempted.
They can simply produce affidavit or apply for B-BBEE Certificate.
CIPC & the dti Collaboration
• customers can register for B-BBEE Certificate using SST or via E-
services
• Registration possible when customer register company, renew annual
returns at SST or stand alone via e-services
• Company turnover not more than R10m
• Alternatively, customer can use affidavit, copy found on website
• B-BBEE transaction is free, but company must be AR compliant.
• B-BBEE certificate reflects Level of black shareholding and women
shareholding
18. Director Verification: Type in the ID number of any relative (i.e. sibling, wife, husband or child) which you
have shared the same surname at some point.
Note: If the ID number does not belong to a relative, an error message will be displayed.
19. Type the relative’s full names in the required block, as it appear on their ID document. (Not the
surname). An error message will display at the bottom of the screen if the names do not match the
names on the database of the Department of Home Affairs.
If there is any special character in the name, copy if from the special characters at the bottom of
the screen

21. A One Time Pin (OTP) will be send to all directors of the company or all members of the
close corporation. Type in all required OTPs and click on Verify.
22. A green tick mark will indicate that the OTP verification was successful. Click on Continue.
23. Complete the three questions relating to shareholding and click on
Continue.

b. How many of those shareholders are BLACK?
c. Out of the Black shareholders, how many are FEMALE?
Complete the questions relating to the percentages of black shareholding
and click on Calculate.
