Professional Experience
A-Operator, Rio Tinto-Kennecott Utah Copper, Salt Lake City, UT, December,2005 to Current.
C-3 Team Leader implementing the 2015 safety improvements.
Led the team of 10 to develop and implement the exclusion zone, hi-vis requirements, light and medium
duty visibility requirements, no passing moving haul trucks, max speed limit and fundamentally stable.
Team lead to develop and install ground level lockout on 26 dozers removing the hazards associated with
repeated climbing up and down the dozer to isolate.
E-5 Mandate team Member.
Optimized conveyer module placement: from 4 days to 18 hours utilizing Kaizen principles. Coordinated
with two different contractor companies working together.
Presented and trained operators with new processes created by Kaizen events.
Project Lead- Radio Reprogramming Project. This project included the physical reprogramming of all
equipment installed with two-way radios. The creation, ordering and installation of all required signage
necessary to split the pit. Coordinating the communications conducting safety and contractor overview
meetings.
Road and Dumps Facilitator.

Managed the distribution network of 200 dealers. Supervised a team of 12 to manufacture and ship 2500
go-karts a year. Designed and tested some of the first full suspension go-karts. Member of a board of
businesses that wrote the government standards that is in use today.
Corporal, United States Marine Corps, Worldwide, December 1988 to November 1994
Equipment Operator with an Air Wing providing loading and unloading of aircraft. Worked on projects to
construct temporary airfields. While deployed to Okinawa, Japan, supervised the tool room that serviced
100 mechanics.
