What Is An Ideal Teacher Essay
The word 'Ideal' according to dictionary means, "Something which is perfect" or "Model of excellence". So in the words of Confucius, "The ideal
teacher guides his students but does not pull them along. He urges them to go forward and does not suppress them. He opens the way but does not
take them to the place". The teachers as we cognize are plentiful but "Ideal Teachers" are rare of the rarest. Everybody can be a teacher but an Ideal
teacher is "One in a Million". An Ideal teacher can make a lot of great students. It is an acknowledged fact that an Ideal education cannot be imparted
in absence of an Ideal teacher. Ideal teachers are therefore, the dire need of every society. In fact, Ideal teachers are the backbone of any progressive
scheme of national education. An Ideal teacher is one we respect from our heart. He acts, as a guide to the students, but at the same times does not
pushes them too much. A perfect teacher motivates the students and boosts their morale. He tries to encourage the students and refrains from
criticizing them. Such a teacher prefers to give positive motivation to...show more content...
In fact, it is a complex process. It is not only concerned with success in short–term, but also with appropriate values and success of long term
achievement. Effective teachers need to have good professional and personal skills. Content knowledge, together with good planning, clear goals and
communication, good classroom management and organization, and consistently high and realistic expectations with the students are essential factors
to be effective teachers. Besides, they need to feel responsible for the students learning process, regardless the students' aptitude to learn. The teachers,
as well as having effective personal and professional skills especially for organizing class and developing students personalities and serve as example f
lifelong learners, and are investors of their own

My Most Memorable Teachers Essay
My Most Memorable Teachers For some reason or another certain students are drawn to particular teachers while other students are more fond of
others. In my life I have studied under three memorable teachers. Teachers with which I was able to connect, to laugh, to share my misgivings. While
I may have been close with each of these teachers, it is very clear, in retrospect, that each was very unique, and represented an entirely different class of
teacher.
The teacher that stands out most in my head is my eleventh grade English teacher. She had a liberal arts background, and enjoyed the classic American
writers; Hemingway, Steinbeck, what have you. She was in the class of teachers who was more impressed by actions and honesty...show more content...
Her class of teachers take their jobs very seriously, and do not tolerate students who skip or disrupt their classes. These teachers are fun, because once
you get them off on some irrelevant tangent, they will keep themselves going on it for entire class segments, trying to get out years of thought and
consideration in just a short period of time. This is how I got to know my psychology teacher, because I was the one who kept her talking, so that the
class could avoid taking the quiz that none of us had studied for. Teachers like her have the innate gift to educate and entertain, with their
comprehensive lessons and subtle quirks.
Finally, I come to my high school horticulture teacher, whom I studied under for so many years that by the time I was a senior, we talked to each
other on a first name basis. He belonged to a small class of teachers who are personally important to every young adult. This class of teacher is the
buddy, the friend. The teacher with whom you can talk about anything, be it the trouble you have been having with your girlfriend, the high–potency
marijuana that you smoked over the weekend, or just the dirty jokes you heard the day before. These are the teachers with whom you simply share
interests, and thus, get along really well. Having a teacher like this is almost like having a counselor, someone older and wiser than yourself

Effective Teaching Strategies Essay
Reflection Item Two:
'Adapting the curriculum and effective teaching strategies'
Question: Discuss in detail ways that teachers can set up the learning environment in order to maximise teaching and learning, and the advantages and
disadvantages that belong with such implementation.
In our teaching careers, the biggest achievement we can make; is to succeed in creating a supportive environment which nurtures the emotional,
physical, social and intellectual developmental needs of each and every one of our students.
Belonging to an inclusive educational setting as a supportive teacher, means we can encourage our students to flourish and grow into successful and
achieving individuals. In an article by Ashman & Elkins, (2008) discussing...show more content...
Teachers share many characteristics in common with parents, teachers also aiming to support and develop student's motional, social, physical, financial
and psychological needs by developing learning opportunies which foster this growth. Recognising that parents and teachers both play similar and
equally as important roles in a child's development is the fist step to fostering a collaborative relationship between both parties. Finders and Lewis
(1994) further discuss this issue of parental involvement in schooling by discussing Delgado– Gaitan's (1991) work, which states "The difference
between parents who participate (in schooling) and those who do not is that, those who do have recognised that they are a critical part in their children's
education". If parents can be made aware that their contributions towards the educational environment are both valued and appreciated, then teachers
will gain access to a wealth of knowledge in which they would have otherwise been denied. This extrinsic knowledge will help teachers to understand
each student learning styles, interests, strengths and weaknesses and motivators.
Collaboration is not only imperative to establish within a Parent/Guardian – Teacher relationship, but it is also important to develop professionally with
other colleagues. Working with other professional allows teachers to learn a multitude of different teaching and learning tools they can use in their
classroom to further support

My Role As A Teacher Essay
I believe education is one of the most important tools a person can have in life. Every child deserves to receive the best education possible. It has
always been my passion to help each child discover their individual God given gifts and talents and to reach their full potential.
Role of the Teacher
When I think about my role as a teacher, one of the most important things I consider is the relationships I build with my students, parents, colleagues,
and community members. In the classroom, I need to ensure that I create a safe, loving, and positive learning environment. In order to make all
students feel welcome, I get to know their names, the correct pronunciation and spellings, learning their culture and background, and their...show more

Teaching Styles
As an educator I need to be flexible in my teaching styles, what works one year, may not work the next, and even day to day can change. I believe
that it is important that I reflect daily on what was successful and what could have gone better. I then make the adjustments to my teaching. As a whole
though, my teaching approach I believe is very similar the the progressivism theory of education. "Progressivists believe that education should focus on
the whole child, rather than on the content or the teacher. This educational philosophy stresses that students should test ideas by active
experimentation. Learning is rooted in the questions of learners that arise through experiencing the world" (Cohen, 1999). In Knight (2008) he states
that "Children have a natural desire to learn and discover things about the world around them." (p. 104). This couldn't be more true in my opinion, my
preschoolers are constantly asking questions about the world around them, I have had some pretty interesting meal time conversations at school based
on the questions and conversations about life these littles bring up! "Children's interest, therefore, are the natural starting point for their learning
experience." (p. 104). This past school year in my morning class are students were really into bugs–so we did a whole unit on bugs, this

A Successful Educator Essay
The primary goal of an educator is to provide a student with the tools needed to accomplish lifelong goals as an adult. Specifically, each teacher is
charged the responsibility to equip a student with the knowledge and skills that will contribute to his/her cumulative educational goals. All too often,
students do not come to school with an unconditional love of learning. The educators therefore, have the ominous task of educating, motivating and
coaching the often disinterested young person. Often, the best teachers are those that find ways to connect with their students. They therefore, find
ways to encourage connections to the students short and long term goals. Many times, students do not find it easy to identify goals. Younger...show

Students who are well taken care of and live in safe happy environments are therefore, better equipped to succeed in a learning environment. Educators
must be observant of the student's well being and willing to facilitate intervention if a student is in distress. Teachers often have to make difficult
decisions to protect their students. By law if an educator suspects child abuse or neglect, it must be reported to the proper authorities. There may be
times when a teacher has to go against the student's wishes to protect him/her but, the educator must consequently adhere to "what is in the best
interest of the child." A successful teacher of flourishing students is involved in the school community. Many times their day is lengthened as they
choose to become integrated into other aspects of their students' lives. Teachers see other sides of students when they are willing to participate in
extracurricular activities. Interaction with their students in non–learning environments thus, gives the educator additional tools to help in the
educational process. Interactions such as this allow teachers to take their students interests and integrate them into the classroom learning environment.
Learning should not be limited to the traditional classroom. Moreover, there are many "teachable moments" that can be utilized outside the classroom.
Team sports, student government, debate team, etc. provides the

I Am My Best Teacher
Over the past school year, I've started developing my own idea of what it means to be a teacher, and how I can be the best teacher to the students
who walk into my classroom at the beginning of each semester. As a new teacher, who isn't much older than some of her students, being able to
relate to them on a personal level becomes an important part of my pedagogy. Throughout my academic career the professors I connected with the
most were those that didn't take themselves so seriously. They were open with students, and obviously cared deeply about their work. Those
professors' classes became the courses I worked the hardest in, and inevitably became my favorite classes. It is their pedagogy that I strive to emulate
and make my own. For me to connect with my students, it is important that I am as open with them as I can be, while still retaining the teacher
persona. I believe that being honest with them promotes a trusting relationship where they feel comfortable talking to me about the issues they are
having in regards to the classroom. I let them know that it's okay to be frustrated with a paper that research can be hard, that everyone gets
overwhelmed; I've been there too, and am still going through it. I give them tips that work for me, and tips that have worked for other people. My
students come into my office knowing I'm there to help them with whatever they need, and sometimes it's just an ear to listen while they vent their
frustrations, and helping them work

What makes a good teacher? Essay
In my opinion, a good teacher should be one who puts her heart into teaching. This is because only by doing so will the students feel their passion
and hard work. When a teacher strives hard for the students, students will put in their effort as well. If a teacher dislikes her job, goes to classes in a
bad mood, her teaching would also be affected and students would not be able to enjoy lessons as well.
Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not
so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage
them. Let them know that the teacher...show more content...
It would be better if the teacher is able to find common topics to chat with the students. This would let the students feel like they can relate better to the

"You must not give up. I want to let you know that even if you're facing so many problems, and feel like there's no one to talk to, I'll be here for you.
Everyone else might want to be the sun that lights up your life, but I rather be the moon that guides you through your darkest hours. Let's strive hard
and work toward our goal together!" This was what my high school teacher told me 10 years ago and I have remembered it until now, and will
remember it for the next 10 years and so on.
I was once a problematic kid who mixed with bad company and flunk tests. I never thought about what I was going to do the next day, what more
when I grew up. Of course when I was younger, I had lots of dreams. I wanted to set up my own company, I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be
able to drive an airplane and the list went on. But as the years went by, they became less insignificant to me and soon, I forgot every single one of
those dreams and goals. I got to a new school and knew friends who smoke and took drugs. My grades started dropping from "A" to fails. But I did
not care. I could not be bothered by then. I went partying every night and got home drunk. What was the point of studying? My parents are

I believe that teaching is the most important profession in the world. How else can we continue to develop in such a technical world, or in any other
way, for that matter? Without the transfer of knowledge to young minds, we will stagnate and wither as a world. Teaching is hope for better, more
successful futures. Learning is hope for becoming better individuals, for gaining intelligence, and for implementing practical experiences in our future.
Since we always tell our children that they should plan for their futures and work to realize those goals, the teaching profession should "practice what
it preaches" by helping young people to reach those goals. Teaching reading during the past five years has been rewarding beyond my...show more

But with a little ingenuity and a great deal of training, change has become easier for me as a reading teacher. Not only do professional activities lend
themselves to opportunities to learn new ideas, they are also ways that we professionals can share our experiences–our victories and our defeats–with
others, creating a bond and a network from which we all can gain support and advice when we need it. Since my time of training for the reading
competencies, I have served on the school literacy team. In addition to setting goals and working to achieve those for our school as a whole, I
have tried to mentor some of the younger teachers who did not teach reading the first year it was offered at our school. I have tried to be an
inspiration, a cheerleader, and encourager. I have offered to help with their classes, to help with lessons, to offer supplies, or whatever other things I
could do to serve as a sort of "cheerleader for reading" at my school. As a result, we now have several teachers who are also implementing those
important reading strategies, and our school is indeed seeing the results from the test data. We're now a community of learners, rather than individual
teachers doing our "own things." So, is professional development important? Most assuredly! Not only have I have learned new methods and strategies
and how to improve them, but I have also shared them with my peers.

The Power of Teachers Essay
The Power of Teachers
Education is one of the main ingredients in forming a successful society. Our education system here in the USA is very complex and does a wonderful
job of teaching our youth. There are four major subjects in the curriculum, English, Math, History and Science but the other aspects of our students'
education are vastly important as well. I believe that the Arts and other skills have to be incorporated into our education system in order to create
well–rounded students. I also feel that enhancement of the body (Physical education) goes hand in hand with enhancement of the mind and also can not
be overlooked in educating our students.
I believe the roles of the teacher in education are critical, not only...show more content...
There are many different styles of teaching and learning. Some teachers choose to make students simply memorize information. Other teachers like to
lecture while their students take notes. Yet others choose to be very interactive in the teaching/learning process. I feel that a combination of all these
different styles is the best way for both teacher and student. There are times when a straight lecture format is needed, and then there are times when
memorization is needed. I believe that interaction, visualization and actually applying what is learned is the best way for students to grasp the
information, but this style can not always be used either, but teachers can never teach the class solely on an interactive level. That is why a
combination of all different styles is the best way to teach. Most of all I think it is very important that the students are able not only to learn the
information but also retain what they have learned. If the students can use what they have learned later on in life, than the learning process is a success.
Children today are the same as children in the past. No youngster would choose to go to school rather than spend time with their friends, so the key to
getting them to learn is to get them interested. No child is dumb, but many children are very unmotivated. Lack of motivation in wanting to learn is a
key factor in why many children are unsuccessful in school. I believe it is our job as teachers to get students

Teaching Is A Beautiful Job Essay
"Teaching is a beautiful job; as it allows you to see the growth day by day of people entrusted to your care. It is a little like being parents, at least
spiritually. It is a great responsibility."– Pope Francis
Through the various classes that I have been able to take here at Franciscan University and through field work at Pugliese West Elementary school this
semester. I have been able to slowly but surely develop a personal education of philosophy that I hope to implement into my future classroom and the
students that will be entering into them. Until my time is done here at Franciscan and I continue on in becoming an educator, I will continually prepare
myself for the different dynamics that my classroom will have, all depending on the children entering. Whether it being me just having an inclusive
classroom or a classroom with kids with multiple disabilities. I feel that my philosophy will stay the same either which way it may go.
In preparing to become a teacher, I've been told by cooperating teachers, superiors whom I look up to, as well as through multiple classes that I've
had the privilege to take. That it is beyond important that we are aware of our student's cognitive growth, physical development, as well as their
social, and emotional needs. Through the learning of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, I will be able to see where their needs are being met and where
they aren't. If the students' needs aren't being met I will be able to pinpoint it and help in with fixing

The Qualities Of An Outstanding Teacher
Describe the skills or attributes you believe are necessary to be an outstanding teacher.
While there are many ways to be an outstanding teacher, every high–quality teacher should, in my opinion, have these skills and dispositions:
A focus on relationships. This includes relationships with students, relationships with parents, relationships with other teachers, relationships between
students, relationships between content areas, and so on. Building excellent relationships with other individuals, especially students, is vital to being
an excellent teacher, no matter the grade level or content area.

Outstanding teachers know their stuff! They know what they are teaching and how to teach it so that students will understand and be able to use their
knowledge in multiple contexts.
Reflective. Outstanding teachers take time to reflect on their own practice and on student learning, asking themselves questions and really seeking to
find the answers. Part of being reflective is using data to inform future teaching, really wrestling with the numbers and information we get from students
about their learning so that we can modify our instruction to best suit their needs.
Solid classroom management/community. Have you ever been in a classroom that could "run itself"? It probably belonged to an outstanding teacher.
Phenomenal teachers craft a classroom that is a community, where all learners are able to grow in relationships, knowledge, and maturity. Systems are
in place to make the classroom run smoothly so that time can be spent on more important things than where to put homework in the morning.
Give back to the school beyond the classroom. The school is a community, just like the classroom should be. One of the best ways to make that
community more beneficial to all its members is to give back. Outstanding teachers know this and put it into practice, whether it is coaching a sport,
volunteering with PTO activities, serving on a committee, or supporting other teachers.
Remember why we are here. In the craziness of mandates and

Being a Teacher Essay
Being a Teacher
Is your life important to you? That is a statement anyone would replay, "yes" to. As surprising as it may seem, though, an important, successful life
would not even be, without one essential element: teachers.
Teachers, educators, instructors, mentors, or baby–sitters, whatever they may be classified as, they are necessary for many reasons. They are
foundation or our American society, they are a source of security, and possibly the parents some never had.
They are the foundation of our American society, meaning they educate everyone. Attending school, whether it is public, private, or home taught is

Those are just a few illustrations of the obligations teachers have. These should not be considered obligations, but honors. Who would not want to be
such an influential role model in others' lives?
As I begin my teaching career and the years prior to it, many ideas and decisions will take place. Being that I plan to teach elementary school and
deal with small children, I plan to be excessive on classroom accessories. Children have a limited attention span and a dull, plain room would not be
appealing to them. The adjustment of leaving "mommy" will be hard enough for them anyway. I hope to make the environment comforting and
welcoming for them. Bright colored bulletin boards and posters with needed information on them. I would like my students seated around the room in
a circle. From experience, I've found that children feel more at ease and apt to speak up when seated this way.
I believe the teacher should be authoritative, especially in the lower grades. The students need to know who is in charge and feel that there is
someone of authority to look up to. Still yet, I want the children to feel a sense of authority, to make decisions and play a leadership role. Possibly, let
one child be "leader of the day" each day; for example, lead the lines or pass out the papers.
Motivation and discipline, I view as the primary topics of educating a classroom. Children have to be motivated, it is human

My Teaching Philosophy Essay
My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and involves many more people than students and
teachers. People should be learning wherever they go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college.
Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack
for life, and some people are better equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly anything, as they
will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show

The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the most important is preparing students to learn, not
only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore
different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is not a skill that can be memorized or made
repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are
not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an energized classroom, and will be reenergized
themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his
or her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only to recognize this, but to help each student
recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the
teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more

Reflective Essay: A Good Teacher...
Standard 1: Development, learning, and motivation–
A teacher has his or her own style or way of motivating their students. Motivation plays an important part in a student's success of learning and
development. There are times when teachers spend more time with their students than most parents do, thus, a teacher is fundamental in shaping their
students success. If parents or teachers are poor leaders our children are the ones who are at a disadvantage. When they shine as leaders our children

Not every child learns the same way, nor are they interested in the same things. In my fieldwork I have noticed that it is becoming more difficult to
keep the attention of twenty to twenty–five children under the age of ten. Most of the students in the class were not really that interested in
researching or reading. When it came time to learn a new activity they would sigh and state that they did not want to do any of the work. However, if
a conversation was sparked about a new video game they were all excited to converse about it. A good teacher must learn to incorporate everyone's
beliefs into the daily curriculum. All students must be aware of the differences in the world and around them. Teachers have a lot of responsibility and
need to make sure that they make learning a positive experience for all. By being sensitive to the needs of everyone and presenting different ways of
doing things, it can be possible for everyone to have an equal opportunity to do their best.
Standard 3: Instruction– Differentiated instruction is very effective in the classroom. Teachers should be well aware of how greatly students may vary
in readiness, interest, and modes of learning. Teachers need to work to adjust the classroom to the needs of subgroups of students. Cooperative learning
or student– centered instruction is not a new concept. Like direct instruction it has been used as

No one can deny that parents are the best and first teachers. They were the fire who triggered our learning skills; as they taught us how to walk,

Essay Best Teacher, Worst Teacher
Best Teacher, Worst Teacher
Although I have had many different types of teachers, there are two that stick out more than any others. The first was my third and sixth grade teacher.
She was the best teacher I ever had. The second was my seventh grade teacher. She was the worst I think a student could have had. Both, these teachers
had very different teaching styles and very different out looks on teaching. To be an effective teacher the teacher must respect the student and be willing
to go the extra mile to help the students learn all they can. In this paper, I will discuss the effectiveness of these two teachers and how their teaching
styles differed.

I hope that I do not become a teacher like this.
Now that I can see the difference in good and bad teaching I have two teachers in mind that fit each description. The first being my favorite teacher.
She was both my third and sixth grade teacher. She showed me that I could be what ever I wanted to be. She made me feel that even though I was
not the best student in the class I still could be the best if I gave a little more. She motivated me to do all my work and gave me the extra boost I
need to learn. When the students in my class did something right she always praised us. She also played game with us to learn. According to the book
it says. ?If the teacher keeps the students involved they will be more likely to like school and learn in school.?
The second type of teacher is and ineffective teacher. This type of teacher does not motivate or enthuse their students to learn. My seventh grade
teacher was this type of teacher. She was a cake decorating teacher at the vocational center then became a math teacher overnight. At the begging of
class, every day she would stand at the board and say class be quiet class shut up. That's all she would say the whole class and we never got anything
done. Then if she would try to teach she would read out of the book and never give examples. If a student would ask a question she would say you?re
not dumb you know the answer. The teacher always put the students down. According to

Becoming a teacher can be an exciting and challenging experience for anyone. It can be quite difficult to put four years of knowledge into their
teaching and into a classroom environment. And while it may seem challenging at first it does become easier over time.
A teacher is not only someone who teaches, but they are a symbol of learning.
A teacher is a person who plays the most important role in the development of any student. The future of those students depends on the qualities and the
dedication of that teacher. It is the teacher who creates an interest in students to develop and to progress. It is the teacher who helps the students

The curriculum then becomes more relevant, therefore the motivation for the students to accomplish the tasks increases.
The subject matter not only has to be relevant but it also has to be stimulating to the students' curiosity. If a student is bored with the content, they are
not going to want to learn it.
The classroom also has to be seen as a caring and supportive place with a sense of belonging. Every student must feel respected, valued and heard.
Giving children the support for learning by welcoming their questions and encouraging exploration is very important for teachers to do.
Extrinsic motivators are sometimes used when teachers have a student or class who feels like they have earn't something for their hard work. This
could be things such as stickers or stamps on their homework and tests. Or it could be receiving verbal or written praise. It could be just the thing that
motivates certain students. But not all students need to be extrinsically motivated. Teachers need to find out which type of motivation works best for
which student to help them succeed.
Classroom teaching is more likely to be effective when it is informed by an understanding of how students learn. Constructivism is the current approach
to learning in Australian schools today. Constructivism is how each student goes about constructing his or her own knowledge. This type of

My Favorite Teacher in History
In my school there are many teachers. Each one teaches us different subjects. Although all of them are fairly good, there is one teacher whom I
love and admire the most. Her name is Mrs. Grace Gilo. There are some teachers, who hardly ever make an impact on, or touch someone's life for
the better. Some just go through life teaching. But there are some that change a person's life, for the better. She was the kind of person that everyone
loved. She never asked too much, or expected too much. She is the most pleasing personality that I have ever come across. She is an ideal teacher.
She has all those qualities which a good teacher is expected to have. A history teacher, a role model and now OIC at Mariano Marcos Memorial High
School. Mrs....show more content...
Now that she is an OIC in my alma mater, I really think she deserves it. I knew how hard she worked and how kind she was. I hear that she will soon
be a principal in another school. As I begin my first year of college, I can't help but look back and reminisce about my days as a high school student. I
feel lucky for having had such an unforgettable high school life and thankful for the people that were a part of it. Mrs. Gilo has always been more than
an educator to me. I look up to her as both a teacher and a friend, and I am so blessed to have her as a part of my

What Is An Ideal Teacher Essay

  • 1. What Is An Ideal Teacher Essay The word 'Ideal' according to dictionary means, "Something which is perfect" or "Model of excellence". So in the words of Confucius, "The ideal teacher guides his students but does not pull them along. He urges them to go forward and does not suppress them. He opens the way but does not take them to the place". The teachers as we cognize are plentiful but "Ideal Teachers" are rare of the rarest. Everybody can be a teacher but an Ideal teacher is "One in a Million". An Ideal teacher can make a lot of great students. It is an acknowledged fact that an Ideal education cannot be imparted in absence of an Ideal teacher. Ideal teachers are therefore, the dire need of every society. In fact, Ideal teachers are the backbone of any progressive scheme of national education. An Ideal teacher is one we respect from our heart. He acts, as a guide to the students, but at the same times does not pushes them too much. A perfect teacher motivates the students and boosts their morale. He tries to encourage the students and refrains from criticizing them. Such a teacher prefers to give positive motivation to...show more content... In fact, it is a complex process. It is not only concerned with success in short–term, but also with appropriate values and success of long term achievement. Effective teachers need to have good professional and personal skills. Content knowledge, together with good planning, clear goals and communication, good classroom management and organization, and consistently high and realistic expectations with the students are essential factors to be effective teachers. Besides, they need to feel responsible for the students learning process, regardless the students' aptitude to learn. The teachers, as well as having effective personal and professional skills especially for organizing class and developing students personalities and serve as example f lifelong learners, and are investors of their own Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Most Memorable Teachers Essay My Most Memorable Teachers For some reason or another certain students are drawn to particular teachers while other students are more fond of others. In my life I have studied under three memorable teachers. Teachers with which I was able to connect, to laugh, to share my misgivings. While I may have been close with each of these teachers, it is very clear, in retrospect, that each was very unique, and represented an entirely different class of teacher. The teacher that stands out most in my head is my eleventh grade English teacher. She had a liberal arts background, and enjoyed the classic American writers; Hemingway, Steinbeck, what have you. She was in the class of teachers who was more impressed by actions and honesty...show more content... Her class of teachers take their jobs very seriously, and do not tolerate students who skip or disrupt their classes. These teachers are fun, because once you get them off on some irrelevant tangent, they will keep themselves going on it for entire class segments, trying to get out years of thought and consideration in just a short period of time. This is how I got to know my psychology teacher, because I was the one who kept her talking, so that the class could avoid taking the quiz that none of us had studied for. Teachers like her have the innate gift to educate and entertain, with their comprehensive lessons and subtle quirks. Finally, I come to my high school horticulture teacher, whom I studied under for so many years that by the time I was a senior, we talked to each other on a first name basis. He belonged to a small class of teachers who are personally important to every young adult. This class of teacher is the buddy, the friend. The teacher with whom you can talk about anything, be it the trouble you have been having with your girlfriend, the high–potency marijuana that you smoked over the weekend, or just the dirty jokes you heard the day before. These are the teachers with whom you simply share interests, and thus, get along really well. Having a teacher like this is almost like having a counselor, someone older and wiser than yourself Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Effective Teaching Strategies Essay Reflection Item Two: 'Adapting the curriculum and effective teaching strategies' Question: Discuss in detail ways that teachers can set up the learning environment in order to maximise teaching and learning, and the advantages and disadvantages that belong with such implementation. In our teaching careers, the biggest achievement we can make; is to succeed in creating a supportive environment which nurtures the emotional, physical, social and intellectual developmental needs of each and every one of our students. Belonging to an inclusive educational setting as a supportive teacher, means we can encourage our students to flourish and grow into successful and achieving individuals. In an article by Ashman & Elkins, (2008) discussing...show more content... Teachers share many characteristics in common with parents, teachers also aiming to support and develop student's motional, social, physical, financial and psychological needs by developing learning opportunies which foster this growth. Recognising that parents and teachers both play similar and equally as important roles in a child's development is the fist step to fostering a collaborative relationship between both parties. Finders and Lewis (1994) further discuss this issue of parental involvement in schooling by discussing Delgado– Gaitan's (1991) work, which states "The difference between parents who participate (in schooling) and those who do not is that, those who do have recognised that they are a critical part in their children's education". If parents can be made aware that their contributions towards the educational environment are both valued and appreciated, then teachers will gain access to a wealth of knowledge in which they would have otherwise been denied. This extrinsic knowledge will help teachers to understand each student learning styles, interests, strengths and weaknesses and motivators. Collaboration is not only imperative to establish within a Parent/Guardian – Teacher relationship, but it is also important to develop professionally with other colleagues. Working with other professional allows teachers to learn a multitude of different teaching and learning tools they can use in their classroom to further support Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Role As A Teacher Essay I believe education is one of the most important tools a person can have in life. Every child deserves to receive the best education possible. It has always been my passion to help each child discover their individual God given gifts and talents and to reach their full potential. Role of the Teacher When I think about my role as a teacher, one of the most important things I consider is the relationships I build with my students, parents, colleagues, and community members. In the classroom, I need to ensure that I create a safe, loving, and positive learning environment. In order to make all students feel welcome, I get to know their names, the correct pronunciation and spellings, learning their culture and background, and their...show more content... Teaching Styles As an educator I need to be flexible in my teaching styles, what works one year, may not work the next, and even day to day can change. I believe that it is important that I reflect daily on what was successful and what could have gone better. I then make the adjustments to my teaching. As a whole though, my teaching approach I believe is very similar the the progressivism theory of education. "Progressivists believe that education should focus on the whole child, rather than on the content or the teacher. This educational philosophy stresses that students should test ideas by active experimentation. Learning is rooted in the questions of learners that arise through experiencing the world" (Cohen, 1999). In Knight (2008) he states that "Children have a natural desire to learn and discover things about the world around them." (p. 104). This couldn't be more true in my opinion, my preschoolers are constantly asking questions about the world around them, I have had some pretty interesting meal time conversations at school based on the questions and conversations about life these littles bring up! "Children's interest, therefore, are the natural starting point for their learning experience." (p. 104). This past school year in my morning class are students were really into bugs–so we did a whole unit on bugs, this Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. A Successful Educator Essay The primary goal of an educator is to provide a student with the tools needed to accomplish lifelong goals as an adult. Specifically, each teacher is charged the responsibility to equip a student with the knowledge and skills that will contribute to his/her cumulative educational goals. All too often, students do not come to school with an unconditional love of learning. The educators therefore, have the ominous task of educating, motivating and coaching the often disinterested young person. Often, the best teachers are those that find ways to connect with their students. They therefore, find ways to encourage connections to the students short and long term goals. Many times, students do not find it easy to identify goals. Younger...show more content... Students who are well taken care of and live in safe happy environments are therefore, better equipped to succeed in a learning environment. Educators must be observant of the student's well being and willing to facilitate intervention if a student is in distress. Teachers often have to make difficult decisions to protect their students. By law if an educator suspects child abuse or neglect, it must be reported to the proper authorities. There may be times when a teacher has to go against the student's wishes to protect him/her but, the educator must consequently adhere to "what is in the best interest of the child." A successful teacher of flourishing students is involved in the school community. Many times their day is lengthened as they choose to become integrated into other aspects of their students' lives. Teachers see other sides of students when they are willing to participate in extracurricular activities. Interaction with their students in non–learning environments thus, gives the educator additional tools to help in the educational process. Interactions such as this allow teachers to take their students interests and integrate them into the classroom learning environment. Learning should not be limited to the traditional classroom. Moreover, there are many "teachable moments" that can be utilized outside the classroom. Team sports, student government, debate team, etc. provides the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. I Am My Best Teacher Over the past school year, I've started developing my own idea of what it means to be a teacher, and how I can be the best teacher to the students who walk into my classroom at the beginning of each semester. As a new teacher, who isn't much older than some of her students, being able to relate to them on a personal level becomes an important part of my pedagogy. Throughout my academic career the professors I connected with the most were those that didn't take themselves so seriously. They were open with students, and obviously cared deeply about their work. Those professors' classes became the courses I worked the hardest in, and inevitably became my favorite classes. It is their pedagogy that I strive to emulate and make my own. For me to connect with my students, it is important that I am as open with them as I can be, while still retaining the teacher persona. I believe that being honest with them promotes a trusting relationship where they feel comfortable talking to me about the issues they are having in regards to the classroom. I let them know that it's okay to be frustrated with a paper that research can be hard, that everyone gets overwhelmed; I've been there too, and am still going through it. I give them tips that work for me, and tips that have worked for other people. My students come into my office knowing I'm there to help them with whatever they need, and sometimes it's just an ear to listen while they vent their frustrations, and helping them work Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. What makes a good teacher? Essay In my opinion, a good teacher should be one who puts her heart into teaching. This is because only by doing so will the students feel their passion and hard work. When a teacher strives hard for the students, students will put in their effort as well. If a teacher dislikes her job, goes to classes in a bad mood, her teaching would also be affected and students would not be able to enjoy lessons as well. Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage them. Let them know that the teacher...show more content... It would be better if the teacher is able to find common topics to chat with the students. This would let the students feel like they can relate better to the teacher. "You must not give up. I want to let you know that even if you're facing so many problems, and feel like there's no one to talk to, I'll be here for you. Everyone else might want to be the sun that lights up your life, but I rather be the moon that guides you through your darkest hours. Let's strive hard and work toward our goal together!" This was what my high school teacher told me 10 years ago and I have remembered it until now, and will remember it for the next 10 years and so on. I was once a problematic kid who mixed with bad company and flunk tests. I never thought about what I was going to do the next day, what more when I grew up. Of course when I was younger, I had lots of dreams. I wanted to set up my own company, I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be able to drive an airplane and the list went on. But as the years went by, they became less insignificant to me and soon, I forgot every single one of those dreams and goals. I got to a new school and knew friends who smoke and took drugs. My grades started dropping from "A" to fails. But I did not care. I could not be bothered by then. I went partying every night and got home drunk. What was the point of studying? • 8. I believe that teaching is the most important profession in the world. How else can we continue to develop in such a technical world, or in any other way, for that matter? Without the transfer of knowledge to young minds, we will stagnate and wither as a world. Teaching is hope for better, more successful futures. Learning is hope for becoming better individuals, for gaining intelligence, and for implementing practical experiences in our future. Since we always tell our children that they should plan for their futures and work to realize those goals, the teaching profession should "practice what it preaches" by helping young people to reach those goals. Teaching reading during the past five years has been rewarding beyond my...show more content... But with a little ingenuity and a great deal of training, change has become easier for me as a reading teacher. Not only do professional activities lend themselves to opportunities to learn new ideas, they are also ways that we professionals can share our experiences–our victories and our defeats–with others, creating a bond and a network from which we all can gain support and advice when we need it. Since my time of training for the reading competencies, I have served on the school literacy team. In addition to setting goals and working to achieve those for our school as a whole, I have tried to mentor some of the younger teachers who did not teach reading the first year it was offered at our school. I have tried to be an inspiration, a cheerleader, and encourager. I have offered to help with their classes, to help with lessons, to offer supplies, or whatever other things I could do to serve as a sort of "cheerleader for reading" at my school. As a result, we now have several teachers who are also implementing those important reading strategies, and our school is indeed seeing the results from the test data. We're now a community of learners, rather than individual teachers doing our "own things." So, is professional development important? Most assuredly! Not only have I have learned new methods and strategies and how to improve them, but I have also shared them with my peers. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. The Power of Teachers Essay The Power of Teachers Education is one of the main ingredients in forming a successful society. Our education system here in the USA is very complex and does a wonderful job of teaching our youth. There are four major subjects in the curriculum, English, Math, History and Science but the other aspects of our students' education are vastly important as well. I believe that the Arts and other skills have to be incorporated into our education system in order to create well–rounded students. I also feel that enhancement of the body (Physical education) goes hand in hand with enhancement of the mind and also can not be overlooked in educating our students. I believe the roles of the teacher in education are critical, not only...show more content... There are many different styles of teaching and learning. Some teachers choose to make students simply memorize information. Other teachers like to lecture while their students take notes. Yet others choose to be very interactive in the teaching/learning process. I feel that a combination of all these different styles is the best way for both teacher and student. There are times when a straight lecture format is needed, and then there are times when memorization is needed. I believe that interaction, visualization and actually applying what is learned is the best way for students to grasp the information, but this style can not always be used either, but teachers can never teach the class solely on an interactive level. That is why a combination of all different styles is the best way to teach. Most of all I think it is very important that the students are able not only to learn the information but also retain what they have learned. If the students can use what they have learned later on in life, than the learning process is a success. Children today are the same as children in the past. No youngster would choose to go to school rather than spend time with their friends, so the key to getting them to learn is to get them interested. No child is dumb, but many children are very unmotivated. Lack of motivation in wanting to learn is a key factor in why many children are unsuccessful in school. I believe it is our job as teachers to get students Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Teaching Is A Beautiful Job Essay "Teaching is a beautiful job; as it allows you to see the growth day by day of people entrusted to your care. It is a little like being parents, at least spiritually. It is a great responsibility."– Pope Francis Through the various classes that I have been able to take here at Franciscan University and through field work at Pugliese West Elementary school this semester. I have been able to slowly but surely develop a personal education of philosophy that I hope to implement into my future classroom and the students that will be entering into them. Until my time is done here at Franciscan and I continue on in becoming an educator, I will continually prepare myself for the different dynamics that my classroom will have, all depending on the children entering. Whether it being me just having an inclusive classroom or a classroom with kids with multiple disabilities. I feel that my philosophy will stay the same either which way it may go. In preparing to become a teacher, I've been told by cooperating teachers, superiors whom I look up to, as well as through multiple classes that I've had the privilege to take. That it is beyond important that we are aware of our student's cognitive growth, physical development, as well as their social, and emotional needs. Through the learning of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, I will be able to see where their needs are being met and where they aren't. If the students' needs aren't being met I will be able to pinpoint it and help in with fixing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. The Qualities Of An Outstanding Teacher Describe the skills or attributes you believe are necessary to be an outstanding teacher. While there are many ways to be an outstanding teacher, every high–quality teacher should, in my opinion, have these skills and dispositions: A focus on relationships. This includes relationships with students, relationships with parents, relationships with other teachers, relationships between students, relationships between content areas, and so on. Building excellent relationships with other individuals, especially students, is vital to being an excellent teacher, no matter the grade level or content area. They know what they are teaching and how to teach it so that students will understand and be able to use their knowledge in multiple contexts. Reflective. Outstanding teachers take time to reflect on their own practice and on student learning, asking themselves questions and really seeking to find the answers. Part of being reflective is using data to inform future teaching, really wrestling with the numbers and information we get from students about their learning so that we can modify our instruction to best suit their needs. Solid classroom management/community. Have you ever been in a classroom that could "run itself"? It probably belonged to an outstanding teacher. Phenomenal teachers craft a classroom that is a community, where all learners are able to grow in relationships, knowledge, and maturity. Systems are in place to make the classroom run smoothly so that time can be spent on more important things than where to put homework in the morning. Give back to the school beyond the classroom. The school is a community, just like the classroom should be. One of the best ways to make that community more beneficial to all its members is to give back. Outstanding teachers know this and put it into practice, whether it is coaching a sport, volunteering with PTO activities, serving on a committee, or supporting other teachers. • 12. Being a Teacher Essay Being a Teacher Is your life important to you? That is a statement anyone would replay, "yes" to. As surprising as it may seem, though, an important, successful life would not even be, without one essential element: teachers. Teachers, educators, instructors, mentors, or baby–sitters, whatever they may be classified as, they are necessary for many reasons. They are foundation or our American society, they are a source of security, and possibly the parents some never had. They are the foundation of our American society, meaning they educate everyone. Attending school, whether it is public, private, or home taught is mandatory in America at a certain age. Therefore, all the basics of life...show more content... Those are just a few illustrations of the obligations teachers have. These should not be considered obligations, but honors. Who would not want to be such an influential role model in others' lives? As I begin my teaching career and the years prior to it, many ideas and decisions will take place. Being that I plan to teach elementary school and deal with small children, I plan to be excessive on classroom accessories. Children have a limited attention span and a dull, plain room would not be appealing to them. The adjustment of leaving "mommy" will be hard enough for them anyway. I hope to make the environment comforting and welcoming for them. Bright colored bulletin boards and posters with needed information on them. I would like my students seated around the room in a circle. From experience, I've found that children feel more at ease and apt to speak up when seated this way. I believe the teacher should be authoritative, especially in the lower grades. The students need to know who is in charge and feel that there is someone of authority to look up to. Still yet, I want the children to feel a sense of authority, to make decisions and play a leadership role. Possibly, let one child be "leader of the day" each day; for example, lead the lines or pass out the papers. Motivation and discipline, I view as the primary topics of educating a classroom. Children have to be motivated, it is human

  • 14. My Teaching Philosophy Essay My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and involves many more people than students and teachers. People should be learning wherever they go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college. Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack for life, and some people are better equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly anything, as they will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show more content... The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the most important is preparing students to learn, not only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is not a skill that can be memorized or made repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an energized classroom, and will be reenergized themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his or her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only to recognize this, but to help each student recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Reflective Essay on a Good Teacher... Reflective Essay: A Good Teacher... Standard 1: Development, learning, and motivation– A teacher has his or her own style or way of motivating their students. Motivation plays an important part in a student's success of learning and development. There are times when teachers spend more time with their students than most parents do, thus, a teacher is fundamental in shaping their students success. If parents or teachers are poor leaders our children are the ones who are at a disadvantage. When they shine as leaders our children blossom and the world is wide open to them. As a future teacher it is of utmost importance that I make sure to find the best style of teaching for the students I will be teaching in order for them to receive the...show more content... Not every child learns the same way, nor are they interested in the same things. In my fieldwork I have noticed that it is becoming more difficult to keep the attention of twenty to twenty–five children under the age of ten. Most of the students in the class were not really that interested in researching or reading. When it came time to learn a new activity they would sigh and state that they did not want to do any of the work. However, if a conversation was sparked about a new video game they were all excited to converse about it. A good teacher must learn to incorporate everyone's beliefs into the daily curriculum. All students must be aware of the differences in the world and around them. Teachers have a lot of responsibility and need to make sure that they make learning a positive experience for all. By being sensitive to the needs of everyone and presenting different ways of doing things, it can be possible for everyone to have an equal opportunity to do their best. Standard 3: Instruction– Differentiated instruction is very effective in the classroom. Teachers should be well aware of how greatly students may vary in readiness, interest, and modes of learning. Teachers need to work to adjust the classroom to the needs of subgroups of students. Cooperative learning or student– centered instruction is not a new concept. Like direct instruction it has been used as Get more content on HelpWriting.net

And it do happen to me too. It was on July 3rd 2015, I was strongly inspired by THE one of the most greatest teacher I've ever known and he made me change day by day with a lot of hard work, attempts and perseverance. • 17. Parents Are The Best Teacher Essay Academic Writing Parents are the best teacher No one can deny that parents are the best and first teachers. They were the fire who triggered our learning skills; as they taught us how to walk, how to talk and later in our lives; they also have a great role in the real world's teaching life experiences. Early in life, parents are the only people known for their child, surrounding him or her with care and love, and of course giving him or her too much time in order to teach them the early skills. Such as, talking, waiving, eating, walking and education. Education is very important thing in every person's life, education makes you became an adult and educated. At the time of scolding children, we are not educating them, but to vent our frustration because we can not solve the problem what children did. What should we do as parents? All you need to do is talk "firm" not to speak "loud". Talk firm in a flat tone, with serious and stared into the face and eyes. Firmly speak is to speak at the time of the rational mind, while talking loudly when our minds are controlled by emotions. Always obey the demand of the children. Like a king, the more the demands increasingly strange and powerful, if it has become a habit will be difficult to be accommodated. Children are educated in this way would become a super selfish child, do not know tolerance, and can not socialize. What should we do as parents? No matter how great our love to children, never impose this kind of parenting it is not good. Affection does not always have to obey his will. If we really love him or her then we have to teach him or her about the value of good and bad, right and wrong, who should and who should not be. If not, our affection, would make it a selfish child. • 18. Essay Best Teacher, Worst Teacher Best Teacher, Worst Teacher Although I have had many different types of teachers, there are two that stick out more than any others. The first was my third and sixth grade teacher. She was the best teacher I ever had. The second was my seventh grade teacher. She was the worst I think a student could have had. Both, these teachers had very different teaching styles and very different out looks on teaching. To be an effective teacher the teacher must respect the student and be willing to go the extra mile to help the students learn all they can. In this paper, I will discuss the effectiveness of these two teachers and how their teaching styles differed. First of all, what is a good teacher? According...show more content... I hope that I do not become a teacher like this. Now that I can see the difference in good and bad teaching I have two teachers in mind that fit each description. The first being my favorite teacher. She was both my third and sixth grade teacher. She showed me that I could be what ever I wanted to be. She made me feel that even though I was not the best student in the class I still could be the best if I gave a little more. She motivated me to do all my work and gave me the extra boost I need to learn. When the students in my class did something right she always praised us. She also played game with us to learn. According to the book it says. ?If the teacher keeps the students involved they will be more likely to like school and learn in school.? The second type of teacher is and ineffective teacher. This type of teacher does not motivate or enthuse their students to learn. My seventh grade teacher was this type of teacher. She was a cake decorating teacher at the vocational center then became a math teacher overnight. At the begging of class, every day she would stand at the board and say class be quiet class shut up. That's all she would say the whole class and we never got anything done. Then if she would try to teach she would read out of the book and never give examples. If a student would ask a question she would say you?re not dumb you know the answer. The teacher always put the students down. According to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Becoming a teacher can be an exciting and challenging experience for anyone. It can be quite difficult to put four years of knowledge into their teaching and into a classroom environment. And while it may seem challenging at first it does become easier over time. A teacher is not only someone who teaches, but they are a symbol of learning. A teacher is a person who plays the most important role in the development of any student. The future of those students depends on the qualities and the dedication of that teacher. It is the teacher who creates an interest in students to develop and to progress. It is the teacher who helps the students achieve whatever aims they set for themselves. The subject matter not only has to be relevant but it also has to be stimulating to the students' curiosity. If a student is bored with the content, they are not going to want to learn it. This could be things such as stickers or stamps on their homework and tests. Or it could be receiving verbal or written praise. It could be just the thing that motivates certain students. But not all students need to be extrinsically motivated. Teachers need to find out which type of motivation works best for which student to help them succeed. Classroom teaching is more likely to be effective when it is informed by an understanding of how students learn. Constructivism is the current approach to learning in Australian schools today. Constructivism is how each student goes about constructing his or her own knowledge. This type of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. My Favorite Teacher in History In my school there are many teachers. Each one teaches us different subjects. Although all of them are fairly good, there is one teacher whom I love and admire the most. Her name is Mrs. Grace Gilo. There are some teachers, who hardly ever make an impact on, or touch someone's life for the better. Some just go through life teaching. But there are some that change a person's life, for the better. She was the kind of person that everyone loved. She never asked too much, or expected too much. She is the most pleasing personality that I have ever come across. She is an ideal teacher.
