for college that were talking about their experience at college and what to look for when we graduated if we decided to go to college. Eager to
start a new chapter college sound like it could be a little nerve wrecking but I thought I could handle it. I remember this lady from ODU clear a day
was telling my class her experience of college and her very first day of college .She explain she didn't know what to make of meeting new people
transitioning to a new chapter in like becoming an adult. In college you make a lot of decision of your own she talk about that challenge of people
get caught up with partying and keeping up with grades. You have to balance everything because e getting overwhelm she seen it people stresses out
with college. It can affect how your behavior and altitude when you become overwhelmed. Her tip for us is take some time to yourself sometime you
don't push yourself so hard. You have to maintain a good schedule to get good results it's not easy in college it come with a lot of pressure. Listening

An Essay on My First Day at College
I remember my first day at college. I had looked forward to it nom my school days. Life at college meant for me the joy of a free and fuller life. It
meant that I was no longer a day that I had grown up and had become fit to bear larger responsibilities. Naturally first day at college was the
beginning of a new chapter in my life.
First tasted freedom when I saw that I would no longer be confined to the same room for hours together as I used to be at school. I had to move from
room to room at the end of each lecture. From lecture hall to library, from seminar to laboratory, from common room to gymnasium, a collegestudent is
constantly on the move. To me on the first day that in itself was thrilling experience. Imagine a hundred of us rushing down the corridors, or across
fields to the next class to occupy the best or the most comfortable seat. It was a sensation of new life, a feeling of exciting youthful vitality. Of
course, there were some among us who took it gravely and philosophically, and went from class to class at a sedate and sober pace indifferent whether
they occupied a seat on the first bench or on the last. But I was not one of these. It was privilege to be able to choose my own seat, to have struggle for
it and to get it by mu own effort. It gave me a sense of personality; I tasted life, as it were with a deep relish.
Then I found that here at college I would not be kept at my books all the four or five hours of my stay. Sometimes between classes there would be a
break; an off–period or two which I could spend relaxing. My college had a good reading–room attached to the library, and a common room which was
even better furnished with means for healthy indoor recreations, carom and Ping–Pong sets; newspapers and periodicals: benches on which we could
lounge and space to loiter in. on that first day I was of course a mere looker–on; the seniors were there, reading newspapers, playing games, or
discussing things. How important and grown–up they looked. Soon I also would be one of them. In that common–room for students I looked forward
to having many hours of joy. I also walked about the library and the corridors and realized with pride that I was a member of a

My First Day On A College Campus
It's my first day on a college campus as I walk through the halls with my junior high classmates. Everybody is slightly nervous as we are about to
see our first cadaver. Our anatomy teacher had some connections at SLU and was able convince them to let us view a cadaver hoping to get us
interested in a medical career. We walk into the room as the smell of preservatives overcomes us. A medical student separates us into groups and
assigns us a cadaver. Over the next hour we all see things we have only seen in our textbooks and every question we can think of is answered by
the medical students. I remember being impressed that none of our questions even warranted looking into a book as the medical students
seemingly knew all the answers. At the end of the hour before it was time to leave our instructor told us that we should make a note of what the
experience felt like because we would likely never experience it again if we did not go to medical school. It was at that moment that I decided I
would be going to medical school at some point but it was not until just recently that I have started to understand and love just how that decision has
and will change my life. I went through my undergraduate degree without much focus. I studied many different fields of science that were interesting
but never really knew what I was working towards. I even looked into different careers such as becoming a chemist and even did research working on
nanoparticle drug delivery systems. Quickly

My First Day On Campus
Every year, millions of young Americans pack their cars with their most prized possessions and head for college. As you prepare to leave your
family home behind, these tips will help you pack for college so you have everything you need for your first day on campus.
Leave the Large Furniture Behind
Most dorm rooms and apartments commonly rented out to college students come fully furnished, so you can leave most of your furniture behind.
Of course, a few pieces of familiar furniture can make your new room feel more like home. Try to choose pieces that won't take up a lot of space in
your car. For example, a beanbag packs down to nearly nothing if you remove the styrofoam beads. You can always buy more when you reach
campus. A good office chair also won't take up a lot of space if you disassemble it. Just remember to take your Allen key so you can put it back
together when you arrive.
Bring the Right Stuff

So what should you bring? "Today's Homeowner" suggests you make space for a small microwave and a mini–fridge. With these two appliances, you
can keep and prepare food in your room and be less tempted to eat out. Campuses can be enormous and public transport isn't always there when you
want it, so consider packing a bike or skateboard to get around. Since most old dorm rooms aren't air–conditioned, you'll also be thankful for a desk fan
during the summer months.
Also think about what hobbies you might enjoy in or around campus. If your

I can clearly remember the my first day at university it was one of the happiest days of my life and I fully appreciate the opportunity I was given
and have enjoyed the learning experience However I feel there has been several issues that have impacted my experience and turned it into
something negative In my fist year just before my January exams I was assaulted by my ex husband this was left me with several facial bruises I
had to obviously report this to the university as I did not want to turn up for exams in this state. Obviously this along with the breakdown of a 20
year relationship had a significant impact on myself and it was decided I should resit the year however at the time of this decision I was led to
believe that the exam pass mark was 70 and no resits were available as I later discovered neither of these were true. When I returned I was still
going through the divorce and ongoing issues especially financial Some days I didn't have enough money for petrol this wasn't helped by mistakes
with student finances Relating to the separation from my ex partner The next problems were health related due to stress I had become run down and
this manifested in bleeding everyday which then resulted in low iron and low b12 both of which have a impact on energy levels I I then suffered
from severe dental problems which consisted of 4 dental abscess had to have several teeth removed because of this and this led to infection and
sinusitis all of this impacted on attendance.

My First Day At The College
It was a warm autumn morning and the sun was just rising on the horizon. I was already awake and ready for my first day at the college. Later I
found myself standing crusted like a statue behind the white door which reminded me an endless emotional tension that I usually experience all the
time while facing a simple for some people but for me a very difficult situation to deal with. For a long period of time a very deep anxiety and
nervousness had been my only response to the situations when I had to interact with new people. Communication has always been an unsolvable
issue in my life as long as I remember myself, which caused me a lot of trouble during my daily life and, i always tried to avoid it and couldn 't find a
will–power or capabilities to overcome it meanwhile realizing that my life would have been a lot easier than at that moment.
Finally, I could suppress my nervousness and after taking a deep breath I opened the door and quietly entered the classroom. It was dark and
unwelcoming like on purpose adding more anxiety to my already bad situation. There were two students sitting, one of them was in the very front seat
right before the teacher 's seat with a notebook and a book on the desk ready for the class. For a moment he cast a quick glance at me, l guess
expecting to see the instructor instead of me, he just looked at me very indifferently. The other student was in the very last seat plunged into his phone
like if there is no life existing beside his phone.

My First Day Of College
My first day of college at Thomas Nelson Community College I was so nervous, being in a new school where I don't know anybody was kind of
frightening. I thought I would feel the same way about college as I did for high school. In high school, all my teachers prepared me the hard way to
prepare for college and what to expect. My goal is to finish out 2 years at Thomas Nelson Community College and transfer to a four–year college to
continue my goal in life to become a Registered Nurse (RN). When I arrived at Thomas Nelson I was very nervous because, so many thoughts went
through my head to say as if what if I can't handle it or what if I'm not smart enough. It was just a lot of pressure that I put on myself until I got a better
understanding of everything because it's a lot I needed to improve as in school. I was excited to be realizing a lifelong dream, but I was also scared.
Aldous Huxley once said, "Words can be like X–Rays if you use them properly they'll go through anything you read". I discovered to learn a word, I
need to decide its many dimensions moreover I learned how to use words in my writing. I often struggle with my choice of vocabulary to use in
my sentences, to make the sentence make sense and be correct. I study my vocabulary cards once a day to learn the meaning of a word, especially
if I don't know the word very well. The new words that I have learned I have also been using them just not in school but also outside of school and it
makes me feel like I'm

Personal Narrative: My First Day At State College
Tuesday was my first day in my placement. I was nervous about going to State College, so I left an hour and a half earlier just in case there would
be a lot of traffic. The drive was not too bad, but my GPS took me to the middle school instead of the elementary school. Eventually, I figured out
where I needed to go and the day was good after that! When I got there I met my teacher, Ms. Lantz, and she introduced me to the 6 para–professionals
in her classroom. I was surprised at how young Ms. Lantz was at first. My teacher told me to follow one of the paras, so I shadowed her and helped
out with a little boy named Leo most of my time that day. On Thursday my teacher sent me with a different para and student. I would like to observe

My First Day In College Essay
It was my first day attending Texas A&M University. Feling anticipation and eagerness, I did not knowing what I should expect from college in the
coming years. My first day of college began. At the time, I was unaware that only two thousand people in the University called themselves "Cadets"
and that their journey is difficult yet rewarding. I was forced into this organization by my parents and their unyielding and resolute decision to have me
develop my social and academic skills here.
The Corps of Cadets at TAMU is famous for teaching their Cadets honor, courage, integrity, discipline and selfless service. Life in the Corps was not at
all what I wanted at first. I dreamed of a peaceful and relaxing college life, full of parties, games, easy classes and a great job offer at the end.
After attending the new student conference, different "cadets" were assigned to different outfits and different companies to sponsor them for the rest
of the school year. Upon my arrival, I was assigned to an all male dorm where every freshmen and upperclassmen would be living together. I saw all
the upperclassmen with their uniforms on, and I thought about how intimidating it would be that I would eventually have to permanently don this
uniform as well. After finding my roommate, and my fellow freshmen comrades that I would be living with for the rest of the year, I found ways that
I would be able to fit in quite nicely.
The time had come for all the parents to leave their children behind,

My First Day Of College Essay
My first day of college was kind of a blur but it was most certainly a very important one. I spent my first semester of college at Central Michigan
University, I arrived on the Friday before classes started which is commonly known as "Welcome Weekend" around campus. Coming into it I really
didn't know what to expect from college, I was really nervous about meeting my roommates and having to communicate with them. I had been
friends with the same 6 people for the past 5 years and moving on into a new environment where I knew no one was pretty daunting. I live in
Livonia Michigan it's about 20 minutes out from Detroit, CMU is in Mount Pleasant just over 2 hours away. I was so sad to leave my friends that
day I basically slept the whole way to Mount Pleasant just so I wouldn't cry. When I arrived my parents and I along with some help from the student
volunteers unpacked my aunts minivan and moved into my home for next 9 months. I was the first to arrive so I obviously chose the biggest room, I
stayed in Trout hall on the north side of campus. The way they had it set was 4 roommates in one dorm, each dorm had 2 bed rooms and 1 bathroom as
well as a common room. Different dorm halls had different rooming methods but the one Trout used was pretty common on campus. Once I was all
moved in and unpacked my parents went out to grab me some groceries, I used this time to catch up with my friend Nick....show more content...
The rest of the year came with a ton of great moments but none have really stuck with me the way my first day did. It's like real life came at me all
at once and the only thing I could do was sit there and take it all in, now when I look back on it I can trace tat day to so many other significant
decisions I made that year, not only that year but all throughout college as well. It may not have gone exactly as planned but it was certain worth the

My First Day As A College Student Essay
August 19, 2013 I walked into Central Louisiana Central Community College, my knees shaking, stomach upside down, and biting my nails. It
was my first day of nursing school. My first day as a college student. I felt very alone, because I did not know a single person in the class. As I sat
and listened to the rules, and regulations I became even more nervous. In the back of my mind I kept saying to myself "Oh, I'm not going to make
it through this." I felt like a fish out of water. The brunette in front of me would not keep her mouth shut, and I was ready to just scream. The first
week of class was a nightmare, and little did I know it would only continue to get worse. In high school, I graduated in the top of my class.
Homework was never a problem, because I never had any. Studying was out of the question, because catching on to the material was very easy.
Life was great as a high school student. Never having to choose between school, or fun was amazing. After four long years of high school, I
thought college was going to be a breeze. Little did I know, nursing school was one of the toughest things I would ever accomplish. I am still
surprised today that I actually made it through. Classes started at seven o'clock and ended at four o'clock. Monday through Friday was dedicated to
school. There was no time for fun, or partying. I worked every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Lowes Home Improvement to barely pay the bills.
Working while in school was a challenge. There was

For many of us our expectancy of what the first day of college should be is less or more of what is predictable considering that some of us have
never been to college or are returning to college. The mindsets that we have not only are similar to most but, are very surreal to a lot and can be
overwhelming. Being that I am 42 years old, going back to school to finally accomplish something with denotation had me excited yet, questioning
whether this was for me. To be on campus with the majority of the students half my age unfortunately made me feel vulnerable and timeworn. I
understood going back, there would be many changes especially with today's technology and new updated curriculums. The feeling that you want to be
ready for whatever comes your way was by far augmented and overtaking. Nevertheless, if goals and ambitions is what gives you the drive to
better yourself no matter what age, the outcome will supersede any ill feeling you had in the beginning. A glimpse of my first day merely covers
the surface of what I felt and experienced going back to school after twenty some years. The feeling of pure terror as I pulled into the parking
structure was tempting me made me to turn around and head home. It also didn't help that parking was a nightmare. Not only did I feel like we were
all going for the same parking space at the same time but, it felt like it was a race to get to the next open spot. Just when you think someone is going
to pull out of a parking space you

It was my first day of college ever when I walked into my English 1060 class. I felt my stomach doing flips. I was filled with the anticipation on
what it was going to be like, what I was going to learn and how hard it was going to be. Before becoming a student at Oakland Community College, I
went to Brandon High School. I read purely for entertainment, my favorite books only being found in the teen section at book stores and libraries. My
writing habits and "skills" only consisted of avoiding the paper I had to write until the night before the due date and somehow finishing it. In the
beginning, writing essays in English 1060 class was a struggle for me. Now that it is coming to the end of this semester, I have learned so many
new skills not only in writing, but in reading also. I have come far this semester but I still have so much to learn. During this semester, I learned
many new reading strategies. One of the reading strategies I learned was on how to annotate and take notes while reading, and summarizing what I
had just read; it has helped me understand the context of what I am reading. I have applied these strategies to my English course by using them
when reading the book In a Rocket Made of Ice and other pieces of literature we had to read in class. I have exercised many of the reading strategies I
have learned in English this semester to other classes I am enrolled in at Oakland Community College. In my College Success class when I am

My First Day Of The Class Essay
When I was updating my Fall quarter schedule, I was not sure whether or not I should take another class, since I knew all three of my classes
would be challenging. Because of that, if ever I decided to take fourth class, I wanted a class that would be easy, fun, and enjoyable. I also wanted a
class that would help me raise my GPA and help me fulfill some of my elective units. Upon scrolling through my options, I came acrossEducation 001:
Imagining Teaching Education. Looking at the overview I thought to myself, "This shouldn't be too bad. It's an introduction on how to teach, it's
only 2 units, and we would only meet once a week. How hard can this class get?!" Without a doubt, I registered to this class thinking it will be an
easy A. The first day of the class was indeed fun and I was positive about my decision in enrolling to the class.
However, all of my assumptions took a detour downhill after I attended weeks two and three of the class. From then, I realized that this class is not
the typical "two unit, easy A" class, rather it was more of a "work hard for it to get an A" class. I struggled in the beginning of the course. Although I
would do all the readings required for the week, my reading questions did not seem to reflect that because of the unsatisfied scores I would get.
Honestly, this class stressed me out; especially knowing that it is only a 2–unit course, but the amount of workload and the stress it was providing me
seemed like it was a 4–unit class. Because

My First Day In College
The first day of college is always a slippery slope for me and most students. People struggles on whether or not to cut their losses, or keep preserving
through their courses. The steps I take on furthering my college career is based on careful research, self–preparations, and reassurance of the people
around me. College is a difficult task to trudge through every day, even a loosely followed schedule and planning can lift the burden.
As a student of Cuyamaca, the first prepare my new semester by looking into my future teacher's score on RateMyProfessor.com. I tend to research on
the teacher based on both their positive and negative reviews and only then a decision is made on whether or not to take their classes. After combing

The time I tend to give at least about two to three hours studying. I tend to lean towards using my laptop for writing. Not only I get spell check, but
I can read what I have written. My handwriting is quite disastrous. After a long day of studying an writing, a make a cup of coffee and watch a few
news segments. It charges me up for more work or I go to some personal projects. Overworking anyone's brain will just burn out. My study sessions
contain youtube videos explaining the subject while I try my best to write down the important elements. So far, this has worked for me and I have at
least came out with Bs and low As.
One of my personal difficulties is all around memory compression. With how my brain works, subjects I am even passionate about will be ultimately
forgotten. Once a test is in front of me, ultimately I feel like I wasted my time studying. I know when I'm in deep waters is when my test score sink
to about the 40 points or under. In most classes, I can at least keep about 60 and above, however. When I do get a 40, I just spend more time
studying. My social anxieties and poor memory do make me feel like an I would just waste a tutor's time. Just knowing others are struggling with the
class and pushing myself further tends to get me that passing grade. I know when I get a subject, however that does not mean I will

Students were either waiting in the hallways for their next class or walking quickly to their next class. Conversing with their peers some students
appeared to be happy and others not so happy. It reminded me of high school but without the lockers and the yard supervisors shouting at you to get
to class. Once in class and seated the uneasiness found its way back to my gut. Waiting for the professor as the class filled up felt like time without
end. The glimpses I acquired from other students were hard to read as some were with a half–smile or just a blank stare. Without a doubt, the feeling of
nervousness and anxiety was felt throughout the room. Keeping an open mind of others wasn't hard since my nurturing side kicked in and my
"Mom Mode" quickly turned on. The majority of these students could easily be my kids given the fact that most were just out of high school.
Although I was hesitant to be in class with so many young people it didn't stop me from endeavoring my new journey. As the students were settling
in and the room silenced itself our professor walked in minutes before class started. Whether I was ready or not it was starting. The consideration of
failure was racing through my mind as he called attendance. Fear, anxiety and uncertainty was setting in and I couldn't do anything about it but, to sit
and listen to what he had to say before I dropped the class. Before giving a brief description of the course, the professor pleasantly

My Experience In My First Day Of College
It was a warm and sunny day, I was able to sleep until eleven o'clock in the mooring. I woke up got dressed and attended my first college class.
Walking across campus, I saw familiar faces from freshman orientation back in June. I felt comfortable starting my first day of college. I told
myself that this was a new chapter in my life, and I wanted to make something special of it. I wanted to make a difference. My number one goal
was to get myself known. I made so many friends by just simply making small talk. I know so many faces on campus and I can not wait to see
what the future has in store for me. My personal involvement at Adelphi is the reason why I have made so many friends here at Adelphi. Starting
back in June at Freshman Orientation, I got involved. I took it upon myself to break the ice within my group. Others were really shy, but I wanted
to include everyone and make my three day experience worth it. Coming back in August was exciting, I got to meet even more people. Meeting
people from all different parts on New York, America, and the world. I think it is so cool that my neighbors are from Japan. They even gave me
some Japanese snacks. The first week at Adelphi was stressful. I really was not used to living away from home and I got home sick. After going
home the first weekend, I cam back stronger than ever. My email box was flooding with emails from Adelphi. Emails about getting involved, joining
clubs, and events. I attended Caliber which is an awesome club

College Freshmen
My first day of college is one of the most important experiences of my life. Fall semester began on August 28, 2017. In that morning, I had plenty
of time compared to high school. I overslept because I knew college starts only at 10 am. I had an alarm set for 9 am. Once I woke, I took shower
and got ready. HACC is about minimum 8 minutes away from my house. By 9:40 am, I was on my way to the Harrisburg Area CommunityCollege. I
was full of confidence that I will reach the campus on time, but the opposite happened. It was my life goal to go to college however, there came the
complication because I was unaware of the incomprehension and unfamiliarity of being freshmen in college.
As a former new student, I got little lost before I arrived at my math class. Once I reached the HACC parking lot, I wasted more than 10 minutes
going around the parking lot looking for an empty spot. While I was driving around I felt very frustrating. Besides, I was running late to class.
Unfortunately, I did not consider a full parking lot. Suddenly I remembered, when I came to college orientation I parked my car across a small
bridge where a new parking lot was under construction. I drove there and found out they finished constructing the new parking lot. There were many
empty parking spots. I parked my car and quickly walked toward Whitaker Hall rushing to find my math class. I had a map of the campus which listed
all names and locations of specific buildings. In the hallway,

Washburn is a small but unique campus that is full of many different things that involve the student body. My experience the first day of campus
was a life experience that consisted of me getting lost at first, trying to get to my classes. Then also, I got to meet new people that I liked and we
had common interests between us. Next, during class I was listening to my professors go over the syllabus and how the class was going to go for
the rest of the semester. At moments, there were times that I felt nervous to talk in front of class that day because of the environment of other
people having all their eyes on me and listening to what I had to say. Towards the end of my classes, it was interesting to see the different things on
campus which grabbed my attention. As my last class ended for the day and we were dismissed to leave, it felt like pressure within me was
released off my body. The first day of college was an experience that I would never forget. That day was interesting with a few reasons. The start of
my day consisted of me getting lost, trying to get to my different classes throughout the day and finding when and where to go. Many of my classes
were in different buildings on campus. Some of them were further than others. It was like my first day of high school, difficult to get around but at the
same time like college getting around. For instance, there were people around to help direct me to my classes. When walking around on campus I kept

My First Day Of College

  • 1. My First Day Of College First day of College Hearing so many good things and bad things about college I didn't know what to expect and look forward to. That change my junior year knowing different college come every year I didn't really pay it any mind what college I wanted to go to until ODU, Virginia State University and Virginia Teach came. It was Virginia State first year of visiting out school and I knew I wanted to go there I start getting e excited for college that were talking about their experience at college and what to look for when we graduated if we decided to go to college. Eager to start a new chapter college sound like it could be a little nerve wrecking but I thought I could handle it. I remember this lady from ODU clear a day was telling my class her experience of college and her very first day of college .She explain she didn't know what to make of meeting new people transitioning to a new chapter in like becoming an adult. In college you make a lot of decision of your own she talk about that challenge of people get caught up with partying and keeping up with grades. You have to balance everything because e getting overwhelm she seen it people stresses out with college. It can affect how your behavior and altitude when you become overwhelmed. Her tip for us is take some time to yourself sometime you don't push yourself so hard. You have to maintain a good schedule to get good results it's not easy in college it come with a lot of pressure. Listening to here I took that and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My First Day At College An Essay on My First Day at College I remember my first day at college. I had looked forward to it nom my school days. Life at college meant for me the joy of a free and fuller life. It meant that I was no longer a day that I had grown up and had become fit to bear larger responsibilities. Naturally first day at college was the beginning of a new chapter in my life. First tasted freedom when I saw that I would no longer be confined to the same room for hours together as I used to be at school. I had to move from room to room at the end of each lecture. From lecture hall to library, from seminar to laboratory, from common room to gymnasium, a collegestudent is constantly on the move. To me on the first day that in itself was thrilling experience. Imagine a hundred of us rushing down the corridors, or across fields to the next class to occupy the best or the most comfortable seat. It was a sensation of new life, a feeling of exciting youthful vitality. Of course, there were some among us who took it gravely and philosophically, and went from class to class at a sedate and sober pace indifferent whether they occupied a seat on the first bench or on the last. But I was not one of these. It was privilege to be able to choose my own seat, to have struggle for it and to get it by mu own effort. It gave me a sense of personality; I tasted life, as it were with a deep relish. Then I found that here at college I would not be kept at my books all the four or five hours of my stay. Sometimes between classes there would be a break; an off–period or two which I could spend relaxing. My college had a good reading–room attached to the library, and a common room which was even better furnished with means for healthy indoor recreations, carom and Ping–Pong sets; newspapers and periodicals: benches on which we could lounge and space to loiter in. on that first day I was of course a mere looker–on; the seniors were there, reading newspapers, playing games, or discussing things. How important and grown–up they looked. Soon I also would be one of them. In that common–room for students I looked forward to having many hours of joy. I also walked about the library and the corridors and realized with pride that I was a member of a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. My First Day On A College Campus It's my first day on a college campus as I walk through the halls with my junior high classmates. Everybody is slightly nervous as we are about to see our first cadaver. Our anatomy teacher had some connections at SLU and was able convince them to let us view a cadaver hoping to get us interested in a medical career. We walk into the room as the smell of preservatives overcomes us. A medical student separates us into groups and assigns us a cadaver. Over the next hour we all see things we have only seen in our textbooks and every question we can think of is answered by the medical students. I remember being impressed that none of our questions even warranted looking into a book as the medical students seemingly knew all the answers. At the end of the hour before it was time to leave our instructor told us that we should make a note of what the experience felt like because we would likely never experience it again if we did not go to medical school. It was at that moment that I decided I would be going to medical school at some point but it was not until just recently that I have started to understand and love just how that decision has and will change my life. I went through my undergraduate degree without much focus. I studied many different fields of science that were interesting but never really knew what I was working towards. I even looked into different careers such as becoming a chemist and even did research working on nanoparticle drug delivery systems. Quickly Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My First Day On Campus Every year, millions of young Americans pack their cars with their most prized possessions and head for college. As you prepare to leave your family home behind, these tips will help you pack for college so you have everything you need for your first day on campus. Leave the Large Furniture Behind Most dorm rooms and apartments commonly rented out to college students come fully furnished, so you can leave most of your furniture behind. Of course, a few pieces of familiar furniture can make your new room feel more like home. Try to choose pieces that won't take up a lot of space in your car. For example, a beanbag packs down to nearly nothing if you remove the styrofoam beads. You can always buy more when you reach campus. A good office chair also won't take up a lot of space if you disassemble it. Just remember to take your Allen key so you can put it back together when you arrive. Bring the Right Stuff Image via Flickr by Webdevil666 So what should you bring? "Today's Homeowner" suggests you make space for a small microwave and a mini–fridge. With these two appliances, you can keep and prepare food in your room and be less tempted to eat out. Campuses can be enormous and public transport isn't always there when you want it, so consider packing a bike or skateboard to get around. Since most old dorm rooms aren't air–conditioned, you'll also be thankful for a desk fan during the summer months. Also think about what hobbies you might enjoy in or around campus. If your Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. I can clearly remember the my first day at university it was one of the happiest days of my life and I fully appreciate the opportunity I was given and have enjoyed the learning experience However I feel there has been several issues that have impacted my experience and turned it into something negative In my fist year just before my January exams I was assaulted by my ex husband this was left me with several facial bruises I had to obviously report this to the university as I did not want to turn up for exams in this state. Obviously this along with the breakdown of a 20 year relationship had a significant impact on myself and it was decided I should resit the year however at the time of this decision I was led to believe that the exam pass mark was 70 and no resits were available as I later discovered neither of these were true. When I returned I was still going through the divorce and ongoing issues especially financial Some days I didn't have enough money for petrol this wasn't helped by mistakes with student finances Relating to the separation from my ex partner The next problems were health related due to stress I had become run down and this manifested in bleeding everyday which then resulted in low iron and low b12 both of which have a impact on energy levels I I then suffered from severe dental problems which consisted of 4 dental abscess had to have several teeth removed because of this and this led to infection and sinusitis all of this impacted on attendance. • 6. My First Day At The College It was a warm autumn morning and the sun was just rising on the horizon. I was already awake and ready for my first day at the college. Later I found myself standing crusted like a statue behind the white door which reminded me an endless emotional tension that I usually experience all the time while facing a simple for some people but for me a very difficult situation to deal with. For a long period of time a very deep anxiety and nervousness had been my only response to the situations when I had to interact with new people. Communication has always been an unsolvable issue in my life as long as I remember myself, which caused me a lot of trouble during my daily life and, i always tried to avoid it and couldn 't find a will–power or capabilities to overcome it meanwhile realizing that my life would have been a lot easier than at that moment. Finally, I could suppress my nervousness and after taking a deep breath I opened the door and quietly entered the classroom. It was dark and unwelcoming like on purpose adding more anxiety to my already bad situation. There were two students sitting, one of them was in the very front seat right before the teacher 's seat with a notebook and a book on the desk ready for the class. For a moment he cast a quick glance at me, l guess expecting to see the instructor instead of me, he just looked at me very indifferently. The other student was in the very last seat plunged into his phone like if there is no life existing beside his phone. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My First Day Of College My first day of college at Thomas Nelson Community College I was so nervous, being in a new school where I don't know anybody was kind of frightening. I thought I would feel the same way about college as I did for high school. In high school, all my teachers prepared me the hard way to prepare for college and what to expect. My goal is to finish out 2 years at Thomas Nelson Community College and transfer to a four–year college to continue my goal in life to become a Registered Nurse (RN). When I arrived at Thomas Nelson I was very nervous because, so many thoughts went through my head to say as if what if I can't handle it or what if I'm not smart enough. It was just a lot of pressure that I put on myself until I got a better understanding of everything because it's a lot I needed to improve as in school. I was excited to be realizing a lifelong dream, but I was also scared. Aldous Huxley once said, "Words can be like X–Rays if you use them properly they'll go through anything you read". I discovered to learn a word, I need to decide its many dimensions moreover I learned how to use words in my writing. I often struggle with my choice of vocabulary to use in my sentences, to make the sentence make sense and be correct. I study my vocabulary cards once a day to learn the meaning of a word, especially if I don't know the word very well. The new words that I have learned I have also been using them just not in school but also outside of school and it makes me feel like I'm Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Personal Narrative: My First Day At State College Tuesday was my first day in my placement. I was nervous about going to State College, so I left an hour and a half earlier just in case there would be a lot of traffic. The drive was not too bad, but my GPS took me to the middle school instead of the elementary school. Eventually, I figured out where I needed to go and the day was good after that! When I got there I met my teacher, Ms. Lantz, and she introduced me to the 6 para–professionals in her classroom. I was surprised at how young Ms. Lantz was at first. My teacher told me to follow one of the paras, so I shadowed her and helped out with a little boy named Leo most of my time that day. On Thursday my teacher sent me with a different para and student. I would like to observe my cooperating Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. My First Day In College Essay It was my first day attending Texas A&M University. Feling anticipation and eagerness, I did not knowing what I should expect from college in the coming years. My first day of college began. At the time, I was unaware that only two thousand people in the University called themselves "Cadets" and that their journey is difficult yet rewarding. I was forced into this organization by my parents and their unyielding and resolute decision to have me develop my social and academic skills here. The Corps of Cadets at TAMU is famous for teaching their Cadets honor, courage, integrity, discipline and selfless service. Life in the Corps was not at all what I wanted at first. I dreamed of a peaceful and relaxing college life, full of parties, games, easy classes and a great job offer at the end. After attending the new student conference, different "cadets" were assigned to different outfits and different companies to sponsor them for the rest of the school year. Upon my arrival, I was assigned to an all male dorm where every freshmen and upperclassmen would be living together. I saw all the upperclassmen with their uniforms on, and I thought about how intimidating it would be that I would eventually have to permanently don this uniform as well. After finding my roommate, and my fellow freshmen comrades that I would be living with for the rest of the year, I found ways that I would be able to fit in quite nicely. The time had come for all the parents to leave their children behind, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My First Day Of College Essay My first day of college was kind of a blur but it was most certainly a very important one. I spent my first semester of college at Central Michigan University, I arrived on the Friday before classes started which is commonly known as "Welcome Weekend" around campus. Coming into it I really didn't know what to expect from college, I was really nervous about meeting my roommates and having to communicate with them. I had been friends with the same 6 people for the past 5 years and moving on into a new environment where I knew no one was pretty daunting. I live in Livonia Michigan it's about 20 minutes out from Detroit, CMU is in Mount Pleasant just over 2 hours away. I was so sad to leave my friends that day I basically slept the whole way to Mount Pleasant just so I wouldn't cry. When I arrived my parents and I along with some help from the student volunteers unpacked my aunts minivan and moved into my home for next 9 months. I was the first to arrive so I obviously chose the biggest room, I stayed in Trout hall on the north side of campus. The way they had it set was 4 roommates in one dorm, each dorm had 2 bed rooms and 1 bathroom as well as a common room. Different dorm halls had different rooming methods but the one Trout used was pretty common on campus. Once I was all moved in and unpacked my parents went out to grab me some groceries, I used this time to catch up with my friend Nick....show more content... The rest of the year came with a ton of great moments but none have really stuck with me the way my first day did. It's like real life came at me all at once and the only thing I could do was sit there and take it all in, now when I look back on it I can trace tat day to so many other significant decisions I made that year, not only that year but all throughout college as well. It may not have gone exactly as planned but it was certain worth the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My First Day As A College Student Essay August 19, 2013 I walked into Central Louisiana Central Community College, my knees shaking, stomach upside down, and biting my nails. It was my first day of nursing school. My first day as a college student. I felt very alone, because I did not know a single person in the class. As I sat and listened to the rules, and regulations I became even more nervous. In the back of my mind I kept saying to myself "Oh, I'm not going to make it through this." I felt like a fish out of water. The brunette in front of me would not keep her mouth shut, and I was ready to just scream. The first week of class was a nightmare, and little did I know it would only continue to get worse. In high school, I graduated in the top of my class. Homework was never a problem, because I never had any. Studying was out of the question, because catching on to the material was very easy. Life was great as a high school student. Never having to choose between school, or fun was amazing. After four long years of high school, I thought college was going to be a breeze. Little did I know, nursing school was one of the toughest things I would ever accomplish. I am still surprised today that I actually made it through. Classes started at seven o'clock and ended at four o'clock. Monday through Friday was dedicated to school. There was no time for fun, or partying. I worked every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Lowes Home Improvement to barely pay the bills. Working while in school was a challenge. There was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. For many of us our expectancy of what the first day of college should be is less or more of what is predictable considering that some of us have never been to college or are returning to college. The mindsets that we have not only are similar to most but, are very surreal to a lot and can be overwhelming. Being that I am 42 years old, going back to school to finally accomplish something with denotation had me excited yet, questioning whether this was for me. To be on campus with the majority of the students half my age unfortunately made me feel vulnerable and timeworn. I understood going back, there would be many changes especially with today's technology and new updated curriculums. The feeling that you want to be ready for whatever comes your way was by far augmented and overtaking. Nevertheless, if goals and ambitions is what gives you the drive to better yourself no matter what age, the outcome will supersede any ill feeling you had in the beginning. A glimpse of my first day merely covers the surface of what I felt and experienced going back to school after twenty some years. The feeling of pure terror as I pulled into the parking structure was tempting me made me to turn around and head home. It also didn't help that parking was a nightmare. Not only did I feel like we were all going for the same parking space at the same time but, it felt like it was a race to get to the next open spot. Just when you think someone is going to pull out of a parking space you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. My First Day Of College It was my first day of college ever when I walked into my English 1060 class. I felt my stomach doing flips. I was filled with the anticipation on what it was going to be like, what I was going to learn and how hard it was going to be. Before becoming a student at Oakland Community College, I went to Brandon High School. I read purely for entertainment, my favorite books only being found in the teen section at book stores and libraries. My writing habits and "skills" only consisted of avoiding the paper I had to write until the night before the due date and somehow finishing it. In the beginning, writing essays in English 1060 class was a struggle for me. Now that it is coming to the end of this semester, I have learned so many new skills not only in writing, but in reading also. I have come far this semester but I still have so much to learn. During this semester, I learned many new reading strategies. One of the reading strategies I learned was on how to annotate and take notes while reading, and summarizing what I had just read; it has helped me understand the context of what I am reading. I have applied these strategies to my English course by using them when reading the book In a Rocket Made of Ice and other pieces of literature we had to read in class. I have exercised many of the reading strategies I have learned in English this semester to other classes I am enrolled in at Oakland Community College. • 14. My First Day Of The Class Essay When I was updating my Fall quarter schedule, I was not sure whether or not I should take another class, since I knew all three of my classes would be challenging. Because of that, if ever I decided to take fourth class, I wanted a class that would be easy, fun, and enjoyable. I also wanted a class that would help me raise my GPA and help me fulfill some of my elective units. Upon scrolling through my options, I came acrossEducation 001: Imagining Teaching Education. Looking at the overview I thought to myself, "This shouldn't be too bad. It's an introduction on how to teach, it's only 2 units, and we would only meet once a week. How hard can this class get?!" Without a doubt, I registered to this class thinking it will be an easy A. The first day of the class was indeed fun and I was positive about my decision in enrolling to the class. However, all of my assumptions took a detour downhill after I attended weeks two and three of the class. From then, I realized that this class is not the typical "two unit, easy A" class, rather it was more of a "work hard for it to get an A" class. I struggled in the beginning of the course. Although I would do all the readings required for the week, my reading questions did not seem to reflect that because of the unsatisfied scores I would get. Honestly, this class stressed me out; especially knowing that it is only a 2–unit course, but the amount of workload and the stress it was providing me seemed like it was a 4–unit class. • 15. My First Day In College The first day of college is always a slippery slope for me and most students. People struggles on whether or not to cut their losses, or keep preserving through their courses. The steps I take on furthering my college career is based on careful research, self–preparations, and reassurance of the people around me. College is a difficult task to trudge through every day, even a loosely followed schedule and planning can lift the burden. As a student of Cuyamaca, the first prepare my new semester by looking into my future teacher's score on RateMyProfessor.com. It charges me up for more work or I go to some personal projects. Overworking anyone's brain will just burn out. My study sessions contain youtube videos explaining the subject while I try my best to write down the important elements. So far, this has worked for me and I have at least came out with Bs and low As. One of my personal difficulties is all around memory compression. With how my brain works, subjects I am even passionate about will be ultimately forgotten. Once a test is in front of me, ultimately I feel like I wasted my time studying. I know when I'm in deep waters is when my test score sink to about the 40 points or under. In most classes, I can at least keep about 60 and above, however. When I do get a 40, I just spend more time studying. My social anxieties and poor memory do make me feel like an I would just waste a tutor's time. Just knowing others are struggling with the class and pushing myself further tends to get me that passing grade. • 16. My First Day Of College For many of us our expectations of what the first day of college should be is less or more of what is predictable considering that some of us have never been to college or are returning to college. The mind–sets that we have not only are comparable to most but, are very surreal to a lot and can be overcoming. Being that I am 42 years old, going back to school to finally undertake something with denotation had me motivated yet, explore whether this was for me. To be on campus with the majority of the students half my age unfortunately made me feel vulnerable and timeworn. Students were either waiting in the hallways for their next class or walking quickly to their next class. Conversing with their peers some students appeared to be happy and others not so happy. It reminded me of high school but without the lockers and the yard supervisors shouting at you to get to class. Once in class and seated the uneasiness found its way back to my gut. Waiting for the professor as the class filled up felt like time without end. The glimpses I acquired from other students were hard to read as some were with a half–smile or just a blank stare. Without a doubt, the feeling of nervousness and anxiety was felt throughout the room. Keeping an open mind of others wasn't hard since my nurturing side kicked in and my "Mom Mode" quickly turned on. The majority of these students could easily be my kids given the fact that most were just out of high school. Although I was hesitant to be in class with so many young people it didn't stop me from endeavoring my new journey. As the students were settling in and the room silenced itself our professor walked in minutes before class started. Whether I was ready or not it was starting. The consideration of failure was racing through my mind as he called attendance. Fear, anxiety and uncertainty was setting in and I couldn't do anything about it but, to sit and listen to what he had to say before I dropped the class. • 17. My Experience In My First Day Of College It was a warm and sunny day, I was able to sleep until eleven o'clock in the mooring. I woke up got dressed and attended my first college class. Walking across campus, I saw familiar faces from freshman orientation back in June. I felt comfortable starting my first day of college. I told myself that this was a new chapter in my life, and I wanted to make something special of it. I wanted to make a difference. My number one goal was to get myself known. I made so many friends by just simply making small talk. I know so many faces on campus and I can not wait to see what the future has in store for me. My personal involvement at Adelphi is the reason why I have made so many friends here at Adelphi. Starting back in June at Freshman Orientation, I got involved. I took it upon myself to break the ice within my group. Others were really shy, but I wanted to include everyone and make my three day experience worth it. Coming back in August was exciting, I got to meet even more people. Meeting people from all different parts on New York, America, and the world. I think it is so cool that my neighbors are from Japan. They even gave me some Japanese snacks. The first week at Adelphi was stressful. I really was not used to living away from home and I got home sick. After going home the first weekend, I cam back stronger than ever. My email box was flooding with emails from Adelphi. Emails about getting involved, joining clubs, and events. I attended Caliber which is an awesome club Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. My First Day Of College College Freshmen My first day of college is one of the most important experiences of my life. Fall semester began on August 28, 2017. In that morning, I had plenty of time compared to high school. I overslept because I knew college starts only at 10 am. I had an alarm set for 9 am. Once I woke, I took shower and got ready. HACC is about minimum 8 minutes away from my house. By 9:40 am, I was on my way to the Harrisburg Area CommunityCollege. I was full of confidence that I will reach the campus on time, but the opposite happened. It was my life goal to go to college however, there came the complication because I was unaware of the incomprehension and unfamiliarity of being freshmen in college. As a former new student, I got little lost before I arrived at my math class. Once I reached the HACC parking lot, I wasted more than 10 minutes going around the parking lot looking for an empty spot. While I was driving around I felt very frustrating. Besides, I was running late to class. Unfortunately, I did not consider a full parking lot. Suddenly I remembered, when I came to college orientation I parked my car across a small bridge where a new parking lot was under construction. I drove there and found out they finished constructing the new parking lot. There were many empty parking spots. I parked my car and quickly walked toward Whitaker Hall rushing to find my math class. I had a map of the campus which listed all names and locations of specific buildings. In the hallway, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. My First Day Of College Washburn is a small but unique campus that is full of many different things that involve the student body. My experience the first day of campus was a life experience that consisted of me getting lost at first, trying to get to my classes. Then also, I got to meet new people that I liked and we had common interests between us. Next, during class I was listening to my professors go over the syllabus and how the class was going to go for the rest of the semester. At moments, there were times that I felt nervous to talk in front of class that day because of the environment of other people having all their eyes on me and listening to what I had to say. Towards the end of my classes, it was interesting to see the different things on campus which grabbed my attention. As my last class ended for the day and we were dismissed to leave, it felt like pressure within me was released off my body. The first day of college was an experience that I would never forget. That day was interesting with a few reasons. The start of my day consisted of me getting lost, trying to get to my different classes throughout the day and finding when and where to go. Many of my classes were in different buildings on campus. Some of them were further than others. It was like my first day of high school, difficult to get around but at the same time like college getting around. For instance, there were people around to help direct me to my classes.
